Bullshit. They’ll capitulate as they always do. Their only use is to unseat the fascist. Once that is done. We can work to unseat them, and then put someone in the Shite House that will actually do the work.

[–] Ajdee6@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago

And then election time will come and we'll get another republican president.

[–] brownsugga@lemmy.world 7 points 9 hours ago

All that doge shit was extremely illegal and everyone involved should be tried

[–] neuromorph@lemmy.world 6 points 9 hours ago

Dodge cuts killed people and reduced US soft influence. its leader needs to be investigated. especially for hiring Big balls

[–] LemmySuxNow@reddthat.com 5 points 9 hours ago

Guys vote for us and we'll do something for real this time

[–] farmgineer@nord.pub 11 points 12 hours ago

Revoke his citizenship, nationalize his shit, throw him in prison for a while, and then deport his ass.

[–] Radical_Socialist_t00t@lemmy.ca 9 points 12 hours ago (2 children)

High on optimism I see. You forget the only reason musk is back in the loop (along with the rest of the billionaire barons) is to rig the midterm results. Dems aren't getting elected.

[–] Smoogs@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago

maybe vote and stop cuckholding to the russian bots.

[–] abigscaryhobo@lemmy.world 6 points 11 hours ago

Nah screw that. I'm voting, and if you aren't a bitch you'll vote too.

Unless you wanna sit up there on your lame ass high horse and not be accountable for anything.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 4 points 11 hours ago

Investigate?

Screw that.

Just tax the MF into oblivion, along with the rest of the rich scumbags pillaging the government and the country.

There are FAR more people that did damage that were actually in charge and supposed to be responsible to and beholden to the citizens of this country. Judges, elected officials, LEOs, military officers. Investigate and bury them.

[–] nullspace@lemmy.world 5 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

They'll dick around and let anything they have fizzle out.

[–] StankStain@lemmy.today 2 points 9 hours ago

the dem playbook

[–] floquant@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

It's wild that this is a political matter at all. The judicial system should not depend on what party is in charge. Still can't fully comprehend the level of institutionalized corruption

[–] Corn@lemmy.ml 2 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

It's wild to me that anybody can believe a judicial system can be non-political.

[–] floquant@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 5 hours ago

I'm sorry for you

[–] pedz@lemmy.ca 21 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Just like the Dems have investigated January 6th? I'm sure the consequences will be devastating for him.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 7 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

That was the feckless Biden Administration. They fucked up royally, and got MAGA elected again. The Dems won't be making that mistake again, or they know they'll find themselves in the same hot seat as MAGA. You may not think the Dems are going to follow up, but the MAGAs certainly do. DC criminal defense lawyers are reporting that business is way up, with potential investigative targets booking their favorite attorney now.

The Dems are already making plans for the investigations. Dems know that even if they could pass legislation, the Demented Queen won't sign it, so the next 2 years are going to focus on Investigations. The plans are already in motion, witness lists are being drawn up, and subpoenas will be issued quickly.

Some people, like Musk, are going to be busy running from one Congressional investigation to another. They won't have time to get in future trouble while they are vigorously defending themselves against past trouble.

[–] 404found@lemmy.zip 5 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

What I'm about to state is not a personal attack. We can discuss this without hatred even if we end the discussion by agreeing to disagree.

Biden had 4 years to prevent Trumps 2nd term. Biden had arguably the best intel in the world in the world working for him. He had an abundance of resources. One self sabotage (if you want to call it that) was Democrats choosing to have Kamala run against Trump last minute. Even if it wasn't last minute, Kamala is a minority and a woman which is a major disadvantage. Not to make this a race discussion but a white woman couldn't even beat Trump. I'm not trying to make this about race but we can't ignore that.

Democrats didn't mess up. They were complicit.

Democrats and the Biden Admin giving the 2024 election the old-college-try to stop Trump getting reelected wasn't a fumble. They threw the game on purpose. They were fully aware of what was at stake and the climate they were in. Democrats aren't making mistakes. They are letting changes happen and then acting appalled. A sweep in the midterms will only slow down the train but they won't stop it. They can't stop it. The system is broken and has giren significantly more broken in recent years.

[–] StankStain@lemmy.today 3 points 9 hours ago

the same way 8 years of obama paved the way for trump, pro-billionaire democrats doing nothing for the working class because they have the same donors as the republicans

[–] Binturong@lemmy.ca 25 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago)

No. Hang him. What more evidence do you need of his immense traitorous harm to America and the working class around the world that would require investigation? You'll lethally inject one person for egregious crimes against one other person, but you'll dither and fret over bringing meaningful consequence to set an example when it's someone who has directly harmed millions worldwide and condemned an entire generation to immeasureable struggle and unprecedented crises. It's vile and pathetic. At this point investigation is a very clear delay and distract tactic, and we all know why this is the best the good cop half of this corporate capital party has to offer.

[–] hildegarde@lemmy.blahaj.zone 27 points 20 hours ago (3 children)

Why are they so obsessed with investigations but never the other parts of the process, like arrests, bringing charges, trials, and sentencing?

[–] abc@suppo.fi 2 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 20 hours ago) (1 children)

Yeup. It should be clear still that this is not a reason not to vote D in midterms though.

And it should be noted how the Trump prosecution case stopped when he became president. So it's not at all unimportant who wields the power when it comes to these court cases.

[–] NikkiDimes@lemmy.world 2 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago) (3 children)

Edit: I read this first thing after waking up and skimmed over the double negative. That's my bad lol. 😅

--

Yeah, since nothing'll change, let's just keep everything the same, because this is going just swell.

Not a reason to vote D my fucking ass.

[–] DiaDeLosMuertos@aussie.zone 2 points 18 hours ago

It took me a few reads to click with the double negative too.

[–] abc@suppo.fi 2 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago) (1 children)

Not a reason to vote D my fucking ass.

I'm sorry for being so double negative

[–] NikkiDimes@lemmy.world 2 points 18 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago)

I read this first thing after waking up and skimmed over the double negative. That's my bad lol. 😅

I should have known better seeing as you're not from .ml

[–] NEZ27@lemmy.zip 2 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

Of all things to 'both sides' this is stupid. One group is actually following due process, the other is literally ignoring due process and intercepting any attempt to reign in corruption.

And none of that 'controlled opposition' patter, due process was moving forward until Trump was re-elected and every bit of opposition was summarily dismantled and dismissed.

[–] NEZ27@lemmy.zip 6 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

I mean investigations are the first part of due process. I agree the rest needs to follow, but an investigation is the start of things.

We also need to quit electing people who like to scuttle investigations, destroy evidence, and stymie witnesses/victims. That is the bigger hindrance to due process.

[–] MrVilliam@sh.itjust.works 2 points 17 hours ago

investigations are the first part of due process.

That is also the only part that the legislative branch can really do. Based on what is found during investigations, they can recommend charges, but that's about it. Arrests and charges come from the executive branch. Trial and sentencing come from the judicial branch. This separation of power is a safeguard against king shit, and believe it or not, the king shit we're seeing in action is still less absolute than it could be if not for some power not yet ceded to the executive.

Because you can't arrest, charge, and bring to trial people without evidence, which is what the investigation is for.

[–] dizzle18@lemmy.zip 11 points 22 hours ago

Find out what exactly Trump meant when he said, “Elon knows those voting machines really well,” and then thanked him for giving him Pennsylvania. Those were quite fucking revealing comments, to say the least. Add on all those weird comments from his little meat shield kid, X-10101-cknvalkmcnvoefr, or whatever the fuck his name is. They stole the election, they committed treason, so give them the televised firing squad they so desire.

[–] Gpennyhigh@lemmy.world 6 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 20 hours ago) (2 children)

Sure, they might try but will get ignored like last time and the evidence might vanish, might be some problem so they don't get power. Either way in two years the propaganda will say that Dems wasted all the time on witch hunts and lawfare and the voters will agree or not show up again and right back to maga. I'd love to be wrong about this, I can handle it lol!

They should literally be running on this.

We know what immigrants are stealing citizens jobs. Or mooching off the system. It's him.

[–] nilloc@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 19 hours ago

He also fraudulently overstayed his student visa while working before naturalizing.

Way worse than anything Omar’s dad did.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 38 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

They should literally be running on this.

Yes. And not just Musk.

People fucking cheered when Ossoff said it.

[–] Pat_Riot@lemmy.today 5 points 23 hours ago

I like ossoff. I was happy to vote for him the other day.

[–] Rothe@piefed.social 11 points 1 day ago

And the Epstein case.

There will be enough Republicans in the Senate to block everything.

[–] DiaDeLosMuertos@aussie.zone 2 points 18 hours ago

Well y'know, maybe hang them too.

[–] BeMoreCareful@lemmy.world 4 points 20 hours ago

I feel like at this point, investing corruption is in a race with the heat death of the universe.

[–] DementedSociety@lemmy.world 70 points 1 day ago (10 children)

Throw his ass in prison for life.

Allow me to begin the investigation: if you look really closely, you can see he's a dick

[–] frustrated_phagocytosis@fedia.io 41 points 1 day ago (4 children)

How many Benghazi sessions did Clinton have to endure? Gonna need like 10 times as many for him. Just hours and hours of time wasting for him, hopefully with lots of temper tantrums and perjury.
