Garbage… I mean the band.
Come the fuck on, is the last panel really AI?
Ugh, yes it is...
Three thumbs up!
On one hand!
Come to Lemmy we have:
Anti-Ai Ai generated memes.
Ultra-conservative leftism (Soviet Union was amazing actually)
Anti-bot anti-reddit post (reposted from Reddit by bots).
Currently at 160 upvotes and 20 downvotes. Most people simply cannot tell. We are so cooked.
at least the original got more upvotes :3
I upvoted yours :p
waow! thanks :3
ur very based <3
My guess is it's because most just look at the face which is mostly unchanged, then there is the people who actually can't distinguish it and who just upvoted for the opinion
I disagree, I think most people simply don't care.
> using AI to make this meme
he didn't even make it! he just edited my meme!
Top 500 songs from the 1970s
Oops, all Cher
50% Sonny. He didn't leave Cher for a tree until much later in his career.
Also, very heavily influenced by corporate interests, money, and disco towards the end.
now now, i'm certain there was some Yoko Ono in there too
complains about AI
uses AI to make this meme
that's because he "borrowed" my meme and edited it with ai smh
You saw one of my memes, and reposted it. That's alright: credit would've been nice, but it isn't required.
But then, you have the audacity to remove the watermark, and modify it using so-called "generative artificial intelligence"? And to top it all off, you insult me and my opinion?
What do you have to say for yourself?
edit: just noticed my post has over double the amount of upvotes, so... :3
My sense of meme culture, and I admit I could be wrong, is that it’s a praise full compliment when someone uses another’s meme format and modifies it. I was sort of startled when you claimed ownership. I thought wow: I did not know that dude was the originator. So. good on you. I honestly don’t come to Lemmy to piss anyone off. I’m not here to compete. Just play and participate a little.
I’m do regret employing AI — I’m here because I want to move the entire internet back to 1999. So… it was a move in violation of my own principals… but I’ve been listening to Gerry Rafferty a lot and I’m nostalgic for the 70s and so I added my two cents.
Surely did not mean to bug.
Eh, it's fine, I guess. It's not really my image, legally speaking. AI just really upsets me, and I do anything and everything I can to fight it.
For your sake, and the sakes of those who see your memes, maybe edit images with Microsoft Paint or something next time? That'd certainly give it 1999 interweb vibes.
p.s. i'm not a dude <3
I thank you both for making an example of healthy communication while being upset. I come from a household where the way "adults" were communicating anger thought me nothing but "anger = bad" and really struggled to see otherwise. While I have defeated that mind bug of mine, I still do highly appreciate examples that would've helped me in the past in understanding that there might be someone reading your exchange from the spot I was in. <3
This was quite unexpected, yet rather welcome. I'm glad to know I navigated the interaction without seeming like a total jerk.
To be quite honest, the other interaction were kinda... oof, but this one in particular was done pretty healthily. It's very easy to seem like a jerk when one cares about something deeply and it gets violated. But still, more the reason to encourage healthy communication and openness and understanding even while angry without compromising on the care <3
I like lastFM as it tells you artists similar to those you enjoy.
Listenbrainz is nice too
I'd take ai suggestions if they actually read the music and based it off of that and not same vague genres and other people's playlists
Pandora did that manually, great for its time but hard to sell to people who just want on demand nowadays.
it could take forever for areal person to hit some of the smaller bands and match them up, we should have the technology to really help fans find new music easy now days but it feels like it's misdirected
Equally fogey-assed dude says:
Every decade, up to and including the one currently in progress, has tons of fantastic music being made by creative, innovative artists. I enjoy the music that I used to love in the 1970’s every bit as much as I love that new album just dropped this week from some guy who was a fetus when I was in grad school. I will always encourage my fellow fogey-asses to find something brand new to add to their playlists.
If there's a service that can actually distinguish between the different types of metal, please point me to it!
Trying to get a stream of symphonic metal will always do one of two things: "Here, have the entire library of these three bands!" or "Oh you like metal? Here's the most gutteral death metal we could find! BWAAAAAAAAAAA!!"
It's such a tiny genre... I want more Q_Q
Hell ya brother
Thoughtful, crystal clear clarity. A song that begs you to go along for the ride and takes you to satisfaction.
Listen to unc this time kids, he knows best.

Perhaps a brand new top 500 of the 70s might be constructed by a new generation with the patience to explore.
For me its following the top 10 most downloaded albums of the day, week, month from private torrent trackers! They normally know whats up. I tried spotify years ago and was very hit or miss on what it threw at me and didnt care for it. It almost felt like some of the suggestions were there for reasons other than it's good and that annoyed me.
The top 500 songs I never need to hear again.
