tl;dr why did it have to be snakes?

[–] Mothra@mander.xyz 31 points 5 days ago (4 children)

Strange photo. I can't figure out if he was on a boat, or in front of a print of the opera house and not the actual opera house. The lighting is weird, but it would be ok if he was on a ferry maybe. But the hair looks strange. I'm confused. Confused because out of all images of Harrison Ford out there, they had to pick this specific one that lhas no relation to the snake, which is endemic to Peru.

[–] Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone 7 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I think he's standing there

[–] Mothra@mander.xyz 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Maybe but don't you think the light looks fake? Not even photoshopped makes sense. Anyway....

[–] Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone 2 points 4 days ago

I was assuming press shot with lighting etc all there behind the camera

[–] blackbrook@mander.xyz 3 points 4 days ago

I would assume he is on the other side of the channel from the opera house.

[–] psx_crab@lemmy.zip 1 points 4 days ago

Probably just photoshopped with the background

[–] Chakravanti@monero.town 2 points 4 days ago

Hey, I...uhh...yeah...oh...damn...right syllables anyway.

[–] merc@sh.itjust.works 13 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I guess cross stitching is a new hobby after he got tired of crashing planes?

[–] espurr@sopuli.xyz 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Not sure why my brain immediately went to this too

Poor guy, make one mistake and it's forever burned into peoples minds

Also it's like the kind of mistake my dumb ass would make so I should not be a pilot

[–] merc@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

One mistake? Most people are involved in at most one airplane accident in their lives. Ford has been involved in 4 where he was the pilot and a fifth as a passenger. All 3 incidents since 2015 were his mistake. The helicopter autorotation incident may not have been.

[–] espurr@sopuli.xyz 2 points 2 days ago

Oh ok damn maybe he should not be flying planes!!

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 19 points 5 days ago (3 children)

Why did it have to be snakes

[–] GalacticGrapefruit@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

I'm gonna get one as a pet and name it Reggie.

[–] qualia@lemmy.world 4 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I love basil. Wish it wasn't impossible to find something that smelled like it that's also stable.

[–] zero_spelled_with_an_ecks@programming.dev 3 points 5 days ago (3 children)

I couldn't get rid of huge bushes of it last time it got into the garden. It survived drought, insects weren't interested in it, and it grew back after being cut down. How much more stable could it be?

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 5 days ago (1 children)

This is just a guess, but qualia might live in a region much less ecologically suited for growing Fawlty than yours 🤷🏻

It can grow well in hardiness zones 2-11. There's only 13 of those. Odds are in my favor. Maybe they just mean it doesn't keep well in the fridge or something. Or they've got a black thumb.

[–] chonglibloodsport@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

That’s really unstable to me. Grows like a weed, needs constant pruning.

Stable is something like a succulent or a slow-growing epiphyte. Barely needs water or really any attention at all. Grows extremely slowly and can survive long droughts.

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 4 days ago

What is your climate like? That probably has a lot to do with its success or failure.
