[–] HappySkullsplitter@lemmy.world 69 points 4 months ago (1 children)

You mean Barack HUSSEIN Obama?

THAT Obama?

[–] jubilationtcornpone@sh.itjust.works 29 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Barack HUSSEIN Obama? The ~~well known mainline protestant Christian~~ MuSlIm SoCiAlIsT WhO WaNtS tO iMpOsE ShArIa LaW On AmErIcA?

THAT OBAMA??

The same Barack Hussein Obama who Trump himself famously said would start a war with Iran to try to help his lagging poll numbers back in the day I'm pretty sure.

May Allah awaken the people to the evil doings of Israel and the United States

"Introduce"? The First Lady is already married to one.

He's the first president who's ever made me feel humiliated.

Good job

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 13 points 4 months ago (2 children)

I hate the guy with a hatred that words cannot describe, but really? The first?

[–] Macchi_the_Slime@piefed.blahaj.zone 6 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I guess I could kinda see it. This is such a dumb regime that it's humiliating to be losing to it maybe? Whereas other presidents it was just more anger at the evil than humiliation? idk

W was a little embarrassing. Yeah this is the first.

[–] CarstenBoll@feddit.dk 12 points 4 months ago (1 children)

It's easy to forget how spectacularly bad W was with everything going on, and he was certainly less personally deplorable than this fucker, but still. Don't forget how bad he was.

[–] Serinus@lemmy.world 5 points 4 months ago

He was bad, but it was mostly policy. The stuff that was actually embarrassing was his inability to speak (not that bad) and the one big Iraq War lie, and the country nepotism.

He didn't smell like shit, he wasn't dumb enough to serve our adversaries, and he didn't make public statements like this crap. He didn't need to be the smartest person in the room while also being dumb as hell.

[–] A_norny_mousse@piefed.zip 4 points 4 months ago

Even as a non-US resident I feel vicarious embarassment, although it's been gradually replaced by incredulity and outrage.

Beautiful photoshop job: the matted blonde beard matches appropriately to his hair type & face countours. The turban coloring matches his suit fairly well too, and even its relative brightness is explainable by not being made of a suit material such as wool.

The only unsolicited criticism would be the blurry tail end of the turban weakening the illusion for your phtoshop snob peers. If there was no hard edge to use for the turban's left side, could've copied, mirrored, and rotated the right side. Oh also the light source seems to be above him rather than in front, meaning the turban would cast a subtle shadow below it onto his brow. So like Trump's sexual interests: it's just minor stuff.

That being said I realize this isn't your job, and this is hopefully taken as collegial, constructive banter intended to improve a shared, beloved hobby. Saved this and wish there was a way to "follow" creators like on other platforms. Thank you for your service.

Hey I'll take an imperfect Photoshop job over lazy AI slop any day of the week. 👍

[–] clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.works 5 points 4 months ago

The beard is unfortunately a good look for him here, too.

8 years of having to listen to people telling me Obama is a Muslim and that Muslims shouldn't be able to be president and just wait for Sharia law.

Trump pulls this stunt: Silence. Or "He's a Christian so it doesn't matter what he says and besides he didn't mean it." Very little in between. Almost no push back.

[–] null@lemmy.org 14 points 4 months ago (2 children)

The praise Allah line seems to me like the kind of thing a shitposter would say just to get a reaction.

[–] mmcintyre@lemmy.world 12 points 4 months ago (1 children)

He was a shitposter before he was president.

What's up with people listening to what Trump says which either spook or calm the market, but no one ever pays attention to Iran, who has the bigger leverage and ultimately calls the shot, if there is ever any peace talks being initiated? Whenever Trump says there is peace talks or ceasefire, Iran quickly counters the claim and we're back to zero all over again.

For people who even hates Trump, why even believe what he says? Why not consider if Iran even agreed to a ceasefire? Is it because the market too racist to listen to Iran, despite having more cards than the US and Trump in this conflict?

[–] 8oow3291d@feddit.dk 6 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

For people who even hates Trump, why even believe what he says?

Because Trump in some cases has the direct power to make words into action. For example bombing Iran's power plants - that happens if Trump tells his generals to make it happen (after purging the general staff, of course).

[–] TankovayaDiviziya@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago (4 children)

Iran has more cards because they have been bombing energy infrastructures across the Middle East and restricting the vessels that go through the strait. I would be more rejoicing if Iran agreed to stop the attacks for an actual ceasefire.

[–] Mirshe@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

The issue is, this is a joint war involving Israel as well. As you may have noticed from the smoking pile of rubble that was Gaza City, Israel has a long history of "we're just gonna violate that ceasefire real quick".

Trump can just decide they will stop bombing civilians.

Iran can't just decide that the US will stop
