Croatian here, and yes (at least speaking for myself).

Judging by the election results, I don't think it's you in the bubble.

Painful for him and what little supporters he has left.

I made a 3-hour jam game with hand-drawn aesthetics called kiwi up!

The main character is this little (about 1.5 cm x 1.25 cm on paper) guy.

small and simple drawing of a kiwi bird

Please take care for him while I sleep.

Thank you, both for the compliment and for introducing me to Teenage Stepdad!

Got it. Thanks for the information!

I'd argue it started with the Cold War when Europe was split in half by the Iron Curtain.

Compared to that, this is a minor setback that can and should be fixed.

Let this motivate you to act rather than push you into despair.

Or a labor rights organization (and if that organization is your union, you'll likely get more back in form of raised wages and benefits, which you can then use for an even greater impact)

Good bot. Someone has to push the American Overton window left of the current madness.

I wonder what Lemmy instance is this server running :P

A hard surface is a start, but a cooler stand is ... cooler. Best give it a separate power source rather than plug it into the laptop, too? Just guessing.

More polarization and division comes from flame wars - burned out people lashing out at each other, encouraged by the algorithms and the social media platform design.

Scrolling social media, keeping up on everything that's happening in the world, and arguing with absolute strangers to no end is good, actually.

Major thanks to Silicon Valley for making this possible.

This group will soon be moving to Reddit.

Scroll for the Scroll God. Attention for the Attention Throne.

  1. Do you think the opponent's arguments will help improve your worldview? If so, the argument is useful.

  2. Is your opponent open to changing their view, and will your arguments help that? If so, the argument is useful.

  3. Is this an effective use of your time reaching other people compared to e.g. posting/commenting your arguments elsewhere? If so, the argument is useful.

Otherwise, the argument is not useful and you should consider doing something else.

Unactionable news burns us out and sometimes causes infighting. We need more simple actionable steps (like online petitions or something, idk).

It's not enough to remove distractions from your life.

Nature abhors a vacuum, and that includes one in your headspace.

In order to make sure you don't go back to your old habits, you need new, better habits, that are more about creation (drawing, writing, crafts, modding...) than consumption (scrolling, getting ragebaited, tiktoks/similar...)

Also, feel free to post about your creations here. Just make sure to prefix your title with "[RECLAIMED TIME]" (or put a hash tag in it, idk how tags work on Lemmy if they work at all)

For example, here's a drawing of my OC I drew in the beginning of this year.

Connect is confusing

Original title: "I may have accidentally deleted my moderation access"

EDIT: It seems to be a Connect (mobile app) display error. Just checked on desktop website, it's all good Lemmy-wise. I accidentally left and rejoined c/ TakeYourTimeBack and TakeOurTimeBack and now it's not on the moderation list for either (and TOTB seems to be deleted).

Too often, the opposing side has nothing to say you haven't heard before, they won't listen to you, and few - if any - neutral people will read your arguments and get convinced.

Not to mention you could be arguing against an AI.

Might as well stick with 4.5 at this point and focus on actually completing the damn thing
