What's the scale on the left? There are 11 tick marks between major divisions so I don't think it's feet. And none of the numbers look like a 3 or 4 and she's not 7 feet tall.

Eta: I call AI. One "foot" has 11 divisions and the other has 10.

[–] wolframhydroxide@sh.itjust.works 50 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Excellent catch. You can also see that both major ticks say 6'

[–] rizzothesmall@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 week ago

She's between 6' and 6', but she's definitely not as short as 6'

[–] ThatGuy46475@lemmy.world 20 points 1 week ago

Metric inches

[–] then_three_more@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago

The R in neighbor is slightly escaping the banner too

[–] i_stole_ur_taco@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 week ago

It looks like it generated based off those paper measuring strips you get in IKEA showrooms.

[–] Masamune@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

On the other hand, this is in Florida, so....

It's tough now, but in this case people have pointed out the measuring tape on the left. The numbers don't make sense and while 1 foot has 10 inches, the next has 11. Even if those were a proper 12" for Tampa... A cinder block isn't 1 foot tall

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 3 points 1 week ago

Good point.

[–] adam_y@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Aside from the visual cues. The context is clearly bullshit too.

[–] expatriado@lemmy.world 43 points 1 week ago (3 children)

wonder how much boost this post gets from the cute face over just the headline story

[–] HumanOnEarth@lemmy.ca 46 points 1 week ago

Approximately all of it

[–] Trex202@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Well the pic implies that she was arrested for making the phone call

Its pretty much our entire society being fascinated by pretty people. And it never ends.

Should have asked the matrix for a better looking avatar for this world :)

On the other hand, ive started thinking its a bit disgusting because these people have (potentially) hundreds of partners.

[–] BoosBeau@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

What's disgusting about having hundreds of partners?

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 25 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Someone else already pointed out why this is AI, which I was also suspecting. Why would they arrest her for this, and why would she have this shit eating grin in the booking photo. And why would this be breaking news.

But I could see someone hating their neighbor and attempting to get them deported by getting ICE involved.

[–] Ganbat@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Why would they arrest her for this

That part isn't hard to imagine. Filing a false police report is a crime, and I'd say people who are willing to call the police about something like this are also probably more likely to get into a conflict with the police when they don't do what they want.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 week ago

I know filing a false report is a crime. But it seems like they would just give her a warning and tell her to stop doing it, because they have more important things to do than arrest her. Unless she is doing this repeatedly after warnings. Also it’s probably something more like misuse of 911. I don’t think she actually filed a police report, as no officer would have taken such a report, since there wouldn’t have been a crime committed to report.

A false report would be if a crime occurred and you make false statements about it, or you make up the crime entirely (like saying you were robbed when you were not.) It’s not like they are actually investigating these British accents.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 6 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Why would she have this shit eating grin

I've seen plenty of actual arrest photos of people giving a shit eating grin because they were drunk or arrested for something objectively funny. So that one wouldn't fase me.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago

Obviously fake, but kinda funny

[–] slothrop@lemmy.ca 17 points 1 week ago (2 children)

The weirdest thing about this is she's being booked.
As in, there were no other options for such an egregious and heinous offence?

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 22 points 1 week ago

She abused police services, tying up resources meant for actual emergencies. That’s usually a serious crime.

What’s weird is when the neighborhood racist calls the police to arrest kids playing outside or knock down a lemonade stand and they just laugh and leave them there without any consequences.

[–] blimthepixie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

How do you know that the mugshot isn't of the person with the British accent???

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 week ago

Didn’t think ICE took mugshots.

[–] UnspecificGravity@piefed.social 15 points 1 week ago

Isn't this one of those states that instructed people to report all their immigrant neighbors?

I guess they didn't mean white immigrants.

[–] lugal@sopuli.xyz 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Says the guy whose profile picture is a French person with a British accent

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] hopesdead@startrek.website 4 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Hey… he speaks French. We just hear a translation instead.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 week ago

It’s the universal translator.

[–] KombatWombat@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

I'm ok with people being British, just not in front of children.

[–] EyIchFragDochNur@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

They mean the neighbour was talking normal English without some clownish accent

[–] Siegfried@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'm not entirely sure if i downvote because of ai slop or because of the nauseous pro american sentiment

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (3 children)

To be fair, it depends on the accent.

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

If it's scouse, I'm with her.

[–] MTZ@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Cockney, for sure.

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Must have been a pretty villainous one.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 6 points 1 week ago

That smug-ass smile of hers though.

[–] roserose56@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 week ago
