Cosplaying to be anti “American Tech”, then kissing the empire hand for blessing.

This is called “neoliberal euro syndrome”.

Stop. Capitulating. To. Trump.

It's hard enough fixing this shit without the rest of the world empowering the far right. (And stop yelling at us to fix our mess when your governments keep throwing shit on the pile. This is your fault too.)

[–] Humana@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

Seriously, after reading about Greenland's recent agreement to increase in American troops. My mind instantly thought of Neville Chamberlain

[–] themaninblack@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago

I sort of get why governments and their leaders keep playing nice with trump - they want to keep trade flowing smoothly.

But isn’t it a worse long run strategy to do this no matter what? Seems to me that they are exposing weakness which could hurt them in future negotiations. Not that any future, sane-minded world leader would ever implement tariffs again.

Exfuckingscuse me motherfucker!?

Antifa is considered a terrorist organisation in fascist America. What the fuck is a European country bending over to them for!? This is a violation of our sovereign rights! Has the Netherlands forgotten why we're trying to get as many of our services to be euro-centric, or open source?

Jeezis christ!

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

The Netherlands is a US vassal state not a country.

[–] tigermountain@lemmy.world 43 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (2 children)

The current US administration must be removed from power. And we must be better versions of ourselves.

[–] trojanbark@lemmy.world 14 points 3 days ago (1 children)

as a non american whose country has been relentlessly fucked by america, i am happy to see america rapidly declining

[–] demonsword@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

yes, me too, seeing the US flailing about as it crash and burn is among the sweetest schadenfreudes I've tasted my entire life

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Removal from power is not enough! They also must be severely punished, alongside with the oligarchs who helped and/or enabled them.

[–] tigermountain@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Completely agree. They not only need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, we need to reinstill and reinforce a value system in the United States that upholds the virtues of character and competence and provides the incentives that will sustain them.

[–] lmdnw@lemmy.world 110 points 4 days ago (5 children)

Why so many European countries are run by cowards with permanent knee pads on for the US is beyond me.

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 52 points 4 days ago (1 children)

European countries are run by greedy fucks who love money and are generally fascist assholes.

[–] raspberriesareyummy@lemmy.world 12 points 4 days ago

As a European, I sadly agree.

[–] ramble81@lemmy.zip 18 points 3 days ago

[–] Valmond@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 4 days ago (13 children)

Sovereign tech is when the US asks nicely for a server seizure in your country and you hand it over.

This is probably the smaller peanuts tho. Italy debankig A/I on behalf of the US is the serious shit. They could have moved their tech operations from Amsterdam if they still had access to their money. That's the much more serious sovereignty gap.

[–] Forsho@sh.itjust.works 51 points 4 days ago

Italy is the cum cleaner, literally.

Personally i am thinking to go full anti-tech, unplug myself from this dark future that is being cooked while everyone is watching and no one is fighting back.

Fuck this.

What'd someone do, advocate for free healthcare?

If i read the source from NRC correctly (I'm dutch), the disks were already wiped. I think this is a matter of not letting a small incident irritate the orange monkey too much. Let's keep that when it actually matters. Not getting some wiped disk with nothing on it.

[–] matlag@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 days ago

That still creates a procedural precedence. That means small orgs can get paralyzed from any US whim if they don't have the means to quickly transfer their servers.

Now the US can ramp up the effort, asking for another server, and another, hey, here's a list for now. The next one is coming in 3 days.

[–] kestrel7_7@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

Okay, that’s more like hilarious malicious compliance, then. I pronounce the Dutch still cool

Look at ASML and Nexperia. The Dutch government bend over and take it all the time. That happens when politicians have no spine and follow the lead of that cunt Mark Rutte. The one who called Trump 'Daddy'.

[–] heartSagan5@lemmy.zip 8 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

Dude, "antifa" has been labeled a terrorist organisation by the FBI, thanks to Orange Palpatine.

[–] kestrel7_7@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

Smh they’re not even right about the meaning of the iron front symbol/“3 downward left arrows inside a circle” can’t believe my taxes go to these jabroni-hogs who can’t even get on wikipedia.

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Fascists convinced the general population that they're just "moderate conservatives", because the nazis were defeated in 1945, nazis only did what they've done out of evil/race theory, and the few losers that are still actually nazis are just some skinheads with nazi-related face tattoos (and also they're calling themselves nazis).

Enjoying a succulent Chinese meal.

But, more seriously...

The seized server belongs to Italian internet provider Autistici/Inventati (A/I). Dutch police are creating a digital image of its data to hand over to U.S. authorities, as required under the American request for legal assistance.

For years, A/I offered free website hosting and email services to thousands of organizations. It attracted the attention of the Trump administration, which regards antifa as a terrorist organization. In late August, U.S. authorities also labeled A/I a terrorist organization, alleging that it had supported antifa. NRC described the move as exceptional, noting that internet service providers are not usually held liable for what their users do.

Just looks like they were hosting traffic that Trump decided to label as Antifa and therefore Terrorist. No indication of what that traffic actually was.

As required under fucking what?

Also, just to belabor the point, trump is Profa.

[–] Zombie@feddit.uk 10 points 3 days ago

Aye, these words do not match. Amsterdam loudly and proudly claims credit for hiding Anne Frank. Making it one of their core tourist attractions. And yet when modern day digital Anne Frank is on their turf they hand them over without question.

[–] curbstickle@anarchist.nexus 19 points 4 days ago (6 children)

MLAT - Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty.

These treaties have been around since the 80's, though I doubt they have been abused this way before.

Dude what the fuck

Amsterdam, I am extremely disappointed.

[–] ReptilianCleric@lemmy.zip 22 points 4 days ago (1 children)

So destroying their org wasn't enough. Kinda seems like they know somebody in that community has information they're trying to control...

[–] Forsho@sh.itjust.works 23 points 4 days ago (2 children)

It might be, but if you trace this from earlier, then I don't think they are after a specific someone.

they want data, anything that is not accessible for them before, they want to have it. i mean plantir or any other “mossad agency” is creating digital ID for everyone as we speak, big data llm is capable to identify who and where and what you are in seconds, as long as you feed it data.

I mean take your pick, could be anything from the below list.

Exposing the “Epstein Class” online

Organizing “anti genocide” rallies

Sharing awareness about workers rights

Fighting discrimination and racism

Campaigns to end the abusing of human rights

Creating anti capitalist movements

Whatever the US pedo leader is against

To this regime, the potential crimes that could be committed would be claiming to be against fascism.

It then moves on to these criteria: "Common threads animating this violent conduct include anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Christianity; support for the overthrow of the United States Government; extremism on migration, race, and gender; and hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on family, religion, and morality."

https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/09/countering-domestic-terrorism-and-organized-political-violence/

So if you hate corporations, Imperialism, racism and gender bigotry, and speaking against those who hate anything different from their magic book

One of these things is a lie. It really doesn’t matter which one.

[–] ChairmanMeow@programming.dev 1 points 2 days ago

They're required to make a copy to safeguard the data and prevent it from being wiped, but that doesn't actually mean the request will be honoured and data will be shared. Thus far, police have said no data has actually been transferred pending the review of the request.
