Sounds like a good argument for a “retail workers union”

Unions need to have regional authority. If one store is closed, the union will automatically be instantiated in any other store that opens in the area. If you don’t like unions that much, then withdraw completely and lose that revenue.

I always heard it called the “chicken lane” when you had wide roads you were trying to make a left across but couldn’t get all the way over.

The comments in the San Antonio Newspaper Facebook feed are just a massive cesspool of people publicly celebrating the opening of new detention facilities, and want more. I wish there was a way to argue the point, but these people are beyond the realm of logic.

The EU… of which Hungary is part of?

He lost the plot the moment he had the US VP stumping for him and Trump supporting him.

Convertibles and coupes are also a dying breed.

Did you not even think what would happen?

Doesn’t matter if the money is coming from the company or the insurance. The point is, it’s more than can ever come from me.

New goal: cause more damage than I’ll ever be able to possibly repay in my lifetime, ensuring that they take a loss they cannot recover from me.

You’re good. No worries

Yeah it’s crazy some of the stories I’ve seen about how a guy doesn’t consider his step kids his own even though he’s raised them since birth. Or find out that the kid wasn’t his due to a mix up of infidelity. Or says that he could never love an adopted child “because it’s not his blood running through their veins”.

Im floored too that quite a few guys think this way, and I’ve heard it from their mouths. I’m very much “blood does not a family make”. But these people think you have to have some chromosomal relation to feel a bond.

I haven’t had a TV in my bedroom in over 20 years. I had an ex who always wanted it on all the time, even to sleep to, and it drove me crazy.

Saw an old lady getting out of a BMW X7 M60i (the high performance version). I asked her what made her choose the M60i and she just said “I dunno, the salesman said it was the best one they had”.

I know, cue the Joey jokes.

From the site: “# Clean Room as a Service

Finally, liberation from open source license obligations.

Our proprietary AI robots independently recreate any open source project from scratch. The result? Legally distinct code with corporate-friendly licensing. No attribution. No copyleft. No problems.”

Edit: Consensus is this is satire, but sadly I can see it being a reality at some point.

Kind of like the Prada in Marfa, it could be an art project and contain Radio Shack, Blockbuster and other stores from that time that aren’t around anymore.

Edit: I meant as more of an art project, not an actual functioning stores. They’re no longer in business for a reason, though I could see vinyl loving types unironically shopping there.

Putting appointed officials aside for now. If the voters put them in and they pull a bait and switch, why shouldn’t they be capable of being recalled? I would assume it would need a higher threshold than just the normal vote, similar to impeachment.

A good example is Fetterman. He’s completely done a 180 and not what the people voted for, yet as I understand it, Congress-critters can’t be recalled.

So some backstory here: I’m pretty much anti-AI, but I try to stay on top of things so I can make informed recommendations to leadership. Recently , they’ve come to me interested in using Replit “because it’s so easy” and they almost have a site built out how they want.

Besides the fact that it’s managed to blow up and nuke production, what are some pros/cons about it? I’m worried about things like BCDR, vulnerability scanning, separation of duties, etc. You know all the base things you should have in place too.

I’m torn between Citizen’s United and the one that rolled back Roe v. Wade.

I know things are unfolding quickly, but I’ve seen reports of attacks on the Dubai and Kuwait airports. In both cases reports are attributing it to Iran doing it in response to the US/Isreali attacks, but none seem to say why?

So why is Iran targeting them and not the US or Israel? I’m having trouble making it make sense.

Especially when it comes to business. I just got off of a meeting with a company that focuses on “monetizing the user experience journey” and the amount of jargon that was used just left me yearning to go tend a field instead.

I don’t know how well this counts, but just saw an announcement from Rackspace stating that they are proud to be partnering with Palantir and using their AI engineers to blab, blah, blah.

I think they’re a bit tone deaf on being so public with who they are partnering with.

Asking for a friend. No seriously, I’m trying to figure out how to best explain this to a friend as I’m having trouble enumerating how I can do it.
