Nothing wrong with breaching epistemic bubbles to seed them with the antidote to their insanity.

Maybe someone will follow OOP's breadcrumbs out of the rabbit hole and find their way to the totally sane, healthy, rational, supportive, and always-factual spaces of the internet such as Lemmy and PieFed...

[–] brucethemoose@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

TBH 4chan is healthier than major social media these days. I'd rank any 4chan dweller over a blue-checkmark Tweeter or a Linkedin lunatic.

And no, that is not a high bar.

[–] yakko@feddit.uk 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Why bother to distinguish between two different flavours of shit?

[–] tomenzgg@midwest.social 3 points 2 months ago

(intentionally) grossNo, no, no – you see, the diarrhea is a more smooth and easy texture than the one with maize in it and that's why it's superior

[–] mghackerlady@leminal.space 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Literally none of you have been on 4chan and it shows. Stay off of /pol/ and /b/ and it's fine. The boards are all different with the exception being they hate /pol/tards and think /b/ are useful idiots

[–] yakko@feddit.uk 6 points 2 months ago

I'm quite prejudiced, having lost a lifelong friend to racialist bullshit he picked up on /pol/. I used to enjoy a bit of /tg/, over a decade ago, but I have better ways to spend my time these days.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 5 points 2 months ago

I was thinking "btrfs, on the other hand..."

They are not all brainless. 4chan is just a catalogue of different imageboards.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

Empty Head. No thoughts. Just here for the CSAM and frog memes.

Do be obsessed with planting perennial herbs that taste good and attract bees

Life is great

[–] MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Plant tomato or thyme, get's rid of wasps.

Awesome! I plant native plants that attract bees and butterflies. My neighbors go to my frontyard just to see the butterflies and humming birds.

My favorite are bees but my second favorite are dragonflies because mosquitoes can go back to the hell they came from.

[–] Korhaka@sopuli.xyz 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Ohh I would love to get some dragonflies

I misread nfts as ntfs and spent far too long wondering why that was in the list.

At this point remaining a windows user voluntarily has to be considered Stockholm syndrome.

[–] glitchdx@lemmy.world 19 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I've been on linux for a few years now. Not going to pretend that I know what I'm doing, because I stopped being a tech enthusiast at half my current age. Aside from needing to start steam from the terminal otherwise the gui never shows up, my pc is doing exactly what I want it to and nothing more.

But then I hear cries of "but you can't play fortnite or league or some other game I don't care about"

insert the meme, you know the one "I already switched, you don't have to sell it to me"

[–] r00ty@kbin.life 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Oh, it's the same here. Well, I do know what I'm doing, but I used to tinker with multiple linux distros in the 90s/2000s. I used gentoo "before it was cool", when you would literally leave it building your initial install for a whole weekend.

I cannot do that now. I went through the process of installing Arch, and it's been pretty good for me with not exploding completely on me (like Manjaro did). I honestly don't have the time to sit and diagnose why I'm stuck at a text only console without internet suddenly any more. Which is exactly what happened with Manjaro.

You couldn't swing around a dead ms office app without hitting a linux user in here

Maybe the shitheads you watch on YouTube are annoying?

[–] Damage@slrpnk.net 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Gamer's Nexus, Project Farms and Technology Connections? How dare you

[–] RamenJunkie@midwest.social 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

What if I don't watch anything on Youtube?

[–] TheTechnician27@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Then vacuous truth comes into play and all the YouTubers you watch are annoying shitheads.

[–] Scubus@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 months ago

Probably, theyre educational. Genuinely feel like the media i consume is what alienates me from other Americans.

[–] Shellofbiomatter@lemmus.org 7 points 2 months ago

Nah, kinda decent actually. Has been worse, could be better, but still kinda decent.

Bragging about the bare minimum zero effort human bean requirements

[–] rumschlumpel@feddit.org 16 points 2 months ago

There are so many humans who don't meet these requirements that it is a legitimate brag at this point. Though they're posting it on 4chan, so, y'know. Plus it was posted in 2021, there were still 1-2 years of pandemic to go - considering that they were already posting on 4chan, I wouldn't bet my savings that they came out of it still meeting those minimum human requirements.

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 15 points 2 months ago

Not sure it's a brag, I see it as just saying, "hey guys, can we all just make a little effort? Perhaps the minimum effort?"

[–] Eyekaytee@aussie.zone 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I don't have twitter but you cannot escape it, twitter screenshots are posted EVERYWHERE, it's the biggest comm on sh.itjust.works

[–] blarghly@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Theres a difference between looking at twitter screengrabs and being on twitter. Same with 4chan.

Sadly, not being a dumbass is beyond some people's capabilities. I don't know how some people put on their pants without falling flat on their dumb faces.

[–] felixwhynot@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

Hey, it’s a start!
