It would be nice if Adam Smith's invisible hand would pick up around here now and again.

[–] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 12 points 2 months ago

Smith in shambles after Marx clowned on him too hard, now no more supernatural hand to do my laundry smh

[–] SubArcticTundra@lemmy.ml 8 points 2 months ago

Many men say they'll die for their family.

Few say they'll do the dishes for their family.

I remember when I visited the annual LO fair (https://fete.lutte-ouvriere.org/) years ago, I attended a conference or two, met some fellows and did dishes at the raclette stand. I didn't know what communism was but doing some dishes felt right

Dishwasher? Fucking bourgeoisie and their fancy toys. No dishes are washed in this home without labour!

[–] glimmer_twin@hexbear.net 14 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

You fool, marx clearly explained that the dishwasher, as well as the potable water and cleaning product, is imbued with the fossilised human labour power mobilised during its production. This fossil labour power is then passed on to the crockery (where it joins the labour power already embodied there during production of said implements).

This fundamental misunderstanding of marx shall lead to nothing but revisionism and opportunism.

As long as you own the means of dishwashing, it's okay?

[–] reagansrottencorpse@lemmy.ml 9 points 2 months ago

Same, but I hate it and am considering buying a dishwasher.

[–] 7bicycles@hexbear.net 9 points 2 months ago (1 children)

surprisingly what helped this a lot was moving to a place with a narrower dishwasher. it fills up basically on the dot every 2 days, you run it, you spend maybe 5 mins putting the stuff back because it's not so much

[–] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 2 months ago

That works well until doing lots of cooking or baking and suddenly have like 3 loads to do
