I never understood authoritarian leftist policies until recently. Now, I definitely still have my criticism of their implementations and conditions. But, man, the actual purpose of them make a lot of sense.
Like, what are we supposed to do when a massive part of the population is currently cheering on "bombed them to the stone age" and "destroy their entire civilization".

That's the problem with these structures once they are created you hand them over to anyone who is able to use them.
I understand why these policies were implemented, in any serious communist government that wants to stay communist, but if the wrong people from inside or outside get to it, many people will suffer.

If a massive part of your population wants to go to war then you're in a pretty bad spot and there isnt much that can prevent that authoritarian or not. At that point you've failed to convince them there is a better path.
The problem I have with Authoritarians is they always think the guy they're putting in power isnt going to do anything bad but once he gets power there is nothing stopping them. If you're lucky the first guy might be good but it will get more and more rotten as the generations go on. Because there is little stopping them from implementing their policy they tend to over correct for any outcome and just end up fucking things up.

Post revolution and pre revolution are the exact same world with the same people. A revolution isnt a magical moment where humans change and pressures disappear.
You'll never get to a point where the authoritarian policies are removed. If you're very very lucky things material conditions will improve and the living under the authoritarian regime will be tolerable until materials conditions to a point where people start wanting more than just food on the table and a roof over their head. But after that people run into the problem where they have no influence on their future or ability to pursue things outside the norm.
If material conditions get worse then life is miserable and nothing you can do until it gets so bad people violently revolt and do it all again.
It's so weird people say this when historically leftist states do actually end authoritarian policies. Like, the gulags were literally closed. Not to mention countless examples of China ending once needed and now no longer needed policies.
I think Anarchist live in a fantasy world sometimes and just like saying "the state never gives up power". It's like you guys try to apply the same theory to a bourgeoise run state and a proletariat run state under a communist party. History literally shows you they are massively different.
Can you maybe offer constructive criticism on how to improve them instead of just blindly acting like state power is some universal evil. After awhile it really just starts to sound like religious dogma. Like the state is some underworld character that you have to defeat.
