What is Cyberpunk?

Cyberpunk is a science-fiction sub-genre dealing with the integration of society and technology in dystopian settings. Often referred to as “low-life and high tech,” Cyberpunk stories deal with outsiders (punks) who fight against the oppressors in society (usually mega corporations that control everything) via technological means (cyber). Probably lubricant. Cutting it would have a high chance of puncturing the battery and burn your finger.

Cut it off while his hand is underwater?

What do you think is making it swell then?

Li-Ion batteries swell because if the battery gets damaged, moisture from the air can get inside and react with the lithium in an exothermic reaction, producing lithium hydroxide and hydrogen. The hydrogen is highly flammable, and depending on the volume of water, it can cause a violent explosion.

That guy is lucky that it didn’t explode and that his finger isn’t a burnt/mutilated mess right now.

Based on their reply, I think they are saying "putting your hand under water prior to puncturing a lithium ion battery won't help you retain your finger."

Ah. Sorry for not catching that. I’d just woken up and was in my pre-coffee phase :(

This would end up with the entire hand being removed

Water does not help battery fires
