To keep Hardware anywhere close to the black - they have to get money coming in. The controller can drop unaffected by the Ram crisis, and recently unaffected by the illegal tarifs

Why would Steam, a company known for hosting millions(billions?) in content, need YouTube to host its own promotional material?
Why would Valve need to do that?
This controller, and the Steam Machines can be used anywhere including not on Steam, so it doesn't make sense to do this. Especially after Gabe demanding the hardware division stands on its own.
My projection is these will sell like hot cakes, like most things Valve sells.

There are literally Millions of other "plausible reasons" and they legally don't have to even have a reason.
