Their point about OOXML has traditionally been that the format that Microsoft Office itself produces has never once matched the standardized standard they ratified. So Microsoft used it to check a box on some requirements sheet and muddy the waters (like this), but anyone actually following the standard would not have achieved actual cross compatibility with the massive gorilla in the space. But because it's "Microsoft's format" any issues would have felt like bugs in LibreOffice rather than bugs in Microsoft Office. In contrast the standardized ODF actually matches the ODF you find in practice.

That all having been said, I stopped paying attention to that whole scene a while ago, so I don't know what the current situation is, or if that still applies. It's possible later version of MSOffice actually moved to the standard version at some point, or that the standard was updated to match what MSOffice actually reads and writes. Possible, but I just don't know.

Well, I'm obviously pinching to show that it hurts when I do this... so... is that normal? It is? Okay great thanks!

Hypothetically speaking, how much time spent at a training camp is necessary for one to be categorized as a military target / enemy combatant? I don't know how the conventions work.

Similar to others here, but slightly different: start with what you're most excited about. There'll be some shitty parts where you're confused and frustrated, and if you feel like you're just doing something you're "supposed to do", it can feel like a job for no pay. Pick something you have an inner thrill for, and maybe that fire can carry you through the dark.

I'd like, just once in my life, to lose $10 billion. Someday...

Hi! I'm a cis-het man, so I'm a guest in this space, and have already gone back and forth 100 times on whether to post anything at all, but eventually decided to. I just wanted to say I've encountered cis-het vulvas that look exactly like those pictured, so if your outcome looks anything like those then you're in amazing company.

In my limited experience, feeling self-conscious about characteristics your vagina either has or doesn't have, or has too much of or not enough of, is unfortunately pretty common amongst cis women, so you may be in a place to "level-up" your dysphoria into common internalized misogyny! Yay... 😅

If any of this has come across as creepy or inappropriate or hurtful in any way, I obviously can't take it back, but please let me know and I'll delete this comment as soon as I see, or if I don't see soon enough please get a mod to blow it all away. It's a sensitive area, and tone is hard to judge over text, and also maybe none of it was a good idea. kthnxluvyoubye!

I hope I'm not missing a joke, but if you're curious in my accent (Ontario, Canada) it would basically always be "bi-sickle" and "moter-saikle"

Thank God I never got around to learning the International Phonetic Alphabet, or that might have been too easy and more useful!

Well, I do other stuff, like I'm riding my bike in the park, and this policewoman says, "Oi! You can't ride your bike on the grass." And I go, "Oh no?", and her uniform falls off, and she goes "Aaaah!", and she's trying to cover up, but I've seen everything anyway, and I get on my bike and ride off. On the grass.

Hey folks! I know a while back there was a kerfuffle because syncthing-fork for Android went dark, and then a new person showed up and claimed everything was cool and they'd been privately given the keys or something, and people were concerned. I pinned my fdroid version to the at-that-time-current release until we got clarity.

Well, it's been a while and I just noticed I'm still on that old release. So... how'd it turn out? Do we like the new person yet? Is there a promising fork y'all are using? Or is the project dead? I'm sure I could just go look at the repo, but I'm also sure the repo would tell me "yeah, we're all cool" no matter what, so I'm curious what the community feelings are. Have there even been any useful new releases since then?

Thanks!

Hey folks! Back in the PS2 days I had Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and besides the quests and stuff I also loved just driving around and going on little road trips and stealing planes.

And then in the PS3 era I had Just Cause 2, and the voice acting was terrible, and the quests were kinda dumb, but wow was it fun to just drive around and go on little road trips and steal planes. And your dumb little hookshot was nearly immersion breaking it was so unrealistic, but instead it was a ton of fun zipping through the air from 150 paces to kick a dude off his motorbike...

Anyway, I'm wondering what people's opinions are on these kinds of games these days! I know Cyberpunk has some driving, but I don't know if people enjoy cruising in it. I really liked Breath of the Wild, which is not really the same but had some screwing around times. I know there's a GTA 5 which I never played but it's probably good, I think there's a Just Cause 3 but I haven't looked into it. Some people love Red Dead 2, which I mostly bounced off of but maybe I was wrong.

Do you folks have any favourites in this "genre"? Things I should check out? Stories of worthless hijinks? Thoughts?

Hello folks! I have these switches in my bathroom.

The rightmost is the lights, and the middle one is the bathroom fan, and I'd like to replace that middle one with something I could load tasmota on (or some other open source firmware), without replacing the other switch, the sockets, or the faceplate.

I haven't seen any smart switches that have a form factor that would fit through this faceplate, though; they seem to mostly want to be the entire electrical box.

If it weren't for the electrical plugs I could maybe replace this with some kind of 2-gang thing, which isn't really what I want but could be fine, but as it stands I'm not sure what my options here are.

I don't need the new switch to necessarily look like the old one, I just want it to fit in the same box and use the same faceplate. Do you folks have any recommendations?
