i think it's just that the poster is a trans women and wanted to raise awareness through a meme about a struggle related to her identity

though i think it's also worth noting that trans women are being disproportionately targeted due to the unique intersections of oppression faced. (see that one english/british court ruling last year or so that declared trans women as not women, without saying anything about trans men; v-coding; the disproportionate attacks on transgender women of color; the disproportionate attacks on transgender sex workers, most of whom are women, vs cis sex workers)

though i don't see any reason why she couldn't have just said trans people. i doubt she thought about it that deeply really

it's a meme, why are you trying so hard to deflect the attention away from trans women?

why dismiss the unique struggles of trans women in favor of unspecified victims of prejudice, without even considering the root of the problem of systemic transphobia, before proposing a solution that has nothing to do with transphobia?

why act like this image has influence on who "the nazis know [...] to target"? why even mention that?

why mention being called a nazi when nobody ITT has called you a nazi?

edit: i am going to start going through the comments and updating this list accordingly. didn't expect so many lol, but happy to aggregate leftist music projects.

BLACKWATER SNIPER - a fusion of speedcore, noise, and extreme metal/punk. lyrical content is anti-war and anti-imperialist.

Blue Scholars - smooth and silky revolutionary jazz rap

CHOP CHOP CHOP CHOP CHOP CHOP CHOP - more noisy electronic metal. i've only listened to his debut, Extreme Creep. has a track on it protesting ICE, released nearly 6 years before the 2nd trump admin.

Christ vs. Warhol - a goth / deathrock band. Dissent touches on anti-capitalism quite a bit.

Emma Goldman - i feel like the name sums it up. queer anarchist screamo.

fromjoy - unique, VERY angsty vaporwave-infused metalcore. including them on this list is a bit of a stretch, but i really enjoy and recommend them. their song "machine" on their self-titled LP is anti-cop.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - probably one of the most well known on this list. GY!BE is an anarchist music collective that makes instrumental post-rock. their latest untitled album is a protest album against the genocide in palestine.

Machine Girl - another comparatively more known project. digital hardcore. my favorite release of theirs is the metal-tinged U-Void Synthesizer. the song "Fortress Destroyer" off that album is about killing nazis.

Midori (Spain) - jungle / digital hardcore with occasional samples about anarchism

Orchid - anti-capitalist screamo/emoviolence

Panopticon - atmospheric black metal. one of the more well known faces in the RABM (red & anarchist black metal) movement. stopped sharing lyrics after the Kentucky LP. a lot of his lyrics on that album are about the miner strikes and early labor movement in kentucky.

Pig Destroyer - grindcore band. ceased writing political lyrics very early in the band's lifetime. Head Cage has an anti-cop song though.

Primitive Man - sludge metal band. genuinely a contender for the heaviest band of all time:tm:. a good portion of their lyrics on Caustic are anti-capitalist.

Pyrrhon - avant-garde, technical, dissonant metal band. Exhaust has a few political lyrics.

Sankara - communist vegan war metal. named after thomas sankara.

Thou - diy anarchist sludge metal. GREAT music, but sometimes a little sketchy. kinda gives egoist vibes

Vermin Womb - grindcore project related to primitive man

trans women are being specifically mentioned because it is harder for trans women to find a job, or even get support from family (and therefore cover basic necessities) due to prejudice and systemic discrimination against trans women

this comment kinda feels like responding "all lives matter" to someone saying black lives matter

americans are too docile and subjugated to think remotely like this i fear

i can't tell if this is anti-communist or pro-ML or something different entirely

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBTQ_rights_by_country_or_territory the "Global LGBT rights maps" section is probably useful. but it's worth noting that many western countries are backsliding hard.

i was a little disappointed to see there aren't many spinoffs or anything. i'm hungry for in-universe content but also generally for similar media. i love the noir and dystopian vibes, and just the way the plot progresses. does anyone have recommendations for similar anime?
