Report issues?

Best of luck to Cerybub. I still have some sugary cat treats (unopened) if you’d like them for hypos

“Do you feed or care for a stray or semi-owned cat in our community? You may be eligible for free desexing and microchipping through our funded responsible pet ownership program.

This program is designed to support residents who are already caring for stray or semi-owned cats by helping them take the next step toward ongoing care and responsibility. Eligible cats will be desexed, microchipped, and registered, then returned to the property where they are currently being cared for as either semi-owned or fully owned pets.

We are partnering with The Vet Project to provide these services, with desexing appointments scheduled for 24 June 2026.

Program details:

Free desexing, microchipping, and registration For stray or semi-owned cats only Cats must return to the property for ongoing care after surgery Eligibility criteria apply Limited places available (approximately 20 spots)

Applications are essential and places are strictly limited. We encourage interested residents to apply as soon as possible to allow time for eligibility assessment and booking confirmation.

Together, we can improve cat welfare, reduce unwanted litters, and promote responsible pet ownership in our community.”

There’s the banana passionfruit too. It’s yellow. It says it prefers warm temperate to cool temperate but tolerates frosts? I don’t know if it would live.

It says it’s not really available in June and July (at least on that site) and the seeds are out of stock on another site.

The first link says something about quarantine zones within Australia too 🤔 There’s another thought. I don’t know if Canada has any laws or regulations on bringing in fruit or plants from other countries so maybe check that out first before you bring anything in

There’s some here, the bush tomato and finger lime look especially good. And they left off a big favourite, the lilly pilly tree. https://nurturedlife.com.au/bush-tucker-plants/

You’d probably want to research care and growing conditions though because even though Victoria is cool Canada might be even colder and prone to frost.

Edit: These claim to be frost tolerant

Planting anything over winter, or just preparing for spring?

The thread is yours

Finding good alternatives at Aldi? Got an op shop haul? Cheap hobby? Something else?

Have at it.

Good call. I kept seeing stuff with tea tree and pyrethrins too

Looking at floss on Kmart site, see a pet toothpaste that claims to contain fluoride. Isn’t that dangerous? Turns out yes, yes it is. The more you know. https://www.hillspet.com.au/pet-care/routine-care/dog-and-cat-toothpaste-and-toothbrushes

If you have an iPhone that has background sounds built in too. Not the highest quality but portable and useful for a non-home bathroom

Settings > Audio and Visual > background sounds

Might keep the kids busy and cheap enough that it doesn’t matter as much if it gets mashed together or dries out. Probably use up any stale flour for this.

Bottles can be rollers and cookie cutters used

Just a reminder that these sites exist.

I’m not sure when this happened but I checked the site again and you can now get Aldi items delivered via Doordash. I don’t know what the delivery costs are like due to not wanting to use Doordash but letting everyone know delivery is now an option.

When accessed on the computer (doesn’t seem to be available on phone) there’s also sorting options for relevance, high to low, and low to high. Would have loved to have one for lowest unit cost but baby steps.

This is a dish of spicy meat sauce, sausages or rissoles, cheese slices, and raw sweet onions over pasta salad and home fries (chunky homemade chips). With your preferred sauces.

If you wanted to make a simpler version with less cooking I’d probably either buy a can or two of bolognese sauce and add hot sauce, or just buy a few cans of something like Stagg chili to heat up. Replace the pasta salad with some heated up baked beans. Then top with grated cheese and chopped raw onion.

It’s probably got so many components due to being comprised of what was left over at a restaurant.

I wouldn’t waste time peeling. Microwaving potatoes for a minute or so each side with the skin on will help them slice easier and finish cooking faster in the oven or pan. Just don’t burn your fingers
