On android it does. On iPhone Firefox it will not work.

Can't be. Just got car back from repair shop.

That was an example for a "grand scheme" of things.

Say, out of 1000000 people only 22600 are Firefox users. That is quite a lot. Now remove two zeros and we get 226 users per 10000. Remove 2 more and out of 100 we got 2 people who use Firefox.

2.26% is a fuck to of people. But if we compare to the whole market, that is negligible. Chrome, for instance, has 68%. Add other chromium based browsers, would make around 75%.

Jellyfin also does that. Also can sort out watched.

Remember those floppy, printer, other old hardware noise music videos? Something like this one. Steam Controller works kind of in a similar way. Tiny motors are able to squeak fast enough to produce multiple waveforms that mimick sound.

OK you don’t like AI, you can turn in off. They added an option for that. Meanwhile Chrome is automatically downloading 4gb worth of models without your consent. Same with basically each other browser.

Because Chrome is used by normies who have no idea and wont care while Firefox is used by tech-literate users who care and like to tinker. The backlash was because FF implemented AI that you had to go to about:settings to disable. Result of backlash - a switch in settings to disable it.

It would be smart to implement AI and advertise people that they can switch it ON if they want to. Not the other way.

Folks are free to use whichever distro they like, Librefox, Waterfox, but remember that without Mozilla foundation the very engine would stop working. Then these forks will not work anymore

There is nothing to go to. But if we accept the outcome, we just submit to the system. Might as well switch to chrome at that point hoping that Servo gets developed fast enough. Firefox would lose their browser share at an instant once they are not different from chromium based browsers. Basically seppuku themselves.

Not understanding your user base is how you get a backlash.

How tables have turned. I went from FF to Chrome somewhere around 2009 just to move back in 2024. Fuck chromium.

That is only by not using firefox and ublock.

1 million of people is a lot. 1 million out of 8 billion is not so much.

Judging by how huge share of browser usage Firefox has, I am pretty sure vast majority of normies know nothing about Firefox

I do not need other user's feedback to know that video is shit. Average YT user would not even check dislike count. They are still watching MrBeast, Paul brothers, Tate, Sniperwolf and all that other taint that spits videos on the platform.

It estimates dislike amount. I might be wrong but the way it works is that it puts likes from everyone, dislikes from ones who has this extension and an overall view count, mixes this data up in a formula and gives an output of approximate dislike count. Factual count is only known to creators.

Managed to spin up Opencloud on my NAS. I put a host entry in NPM and it seems to be working. From external internet I can log in and upload files with no issues. But whenever I try to reach it through local IP and port, page loads but stays completely blank.

Googling didn't give reasonable leads. Has anyone had similar issue that they've fixed?

Ladies and gentlemen. We got'em!

Yesterday a divine miracle happened and a wild Xbox360 S phased into reality in my apartment. What cool and neat things I can do with it?

I run proxy through RPi3b+ that is installed in another country. I want to open a port on RPi that is being used by qbittorent on main machine which is 6881. Is there any way to do it?

I have used ufw enable 6881/tcp but it seems not to work. And I tried miniupnp but it fails to ind IGD which must be there cause router does have UPnP tailscale port open automatically. Am I doing something wrong?

Recently digitalized bunch of DVDs and BluRays. This one is a hell of a CD holder. Feels like trying to play tug of war with a dog.

I have set an Arr stack with qBittorrent utilizing SOCKS5 server set in another country. Am I still under surveillance if I use my local IP address to download .torrent files or use magnet links?

Got a printer at the warehouse where they sell used hotel equipment. They told that it has a defect in a way that it "prints with a line across". All cartridges were full and working. And it seems that they can be refilled judging by the area around the caps.

It did work but the "line" was a bend, not a print. Found out that heating roller in a fuser was the culprit. Was about to get a new fuser off Alibaba for a 100 but my wife gave me a better option. She suggested to get a used one off local marketplace. We found same lineup smiplier model with empty cartridges. After a quick swap, this little boy now gives out sharp and plain prints. 30 euro for defective office one, 40 euro off marketplace.

This pic is from a marketplace printer with a swapped in defective fuser.

P.S. Apparently, this brand has an extensive servicing manual for this lineup printers. It has all instructions for servicing pretty much any part with pictures and videos. Major props for Lexmark. Never heard of this brand before.

Need help with VPN (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

I currenly reside in a country with strict piracy rules but also have access to the internet in a country where piracy is not enforced. I want to setup a VPN and route qBittorrent's traffic through it. The idea is to do something like this:

I am fresh to selfhosting and most of the time have no clue how to achieve what I want. So far I have tried Tailscale but I think it won't work how I want it to. If it helps, I have domain name registered. Can anybody point me to the right direction?

Update (if anyone is seeking answers):

I went with tailscale which I have already set up before on the rpi3. Somehow, no matter what I try, wireguard or pivpn would not work. Maybe I have hands growing out of my ass or something, no idea.

What did work is Dante. I setup socks5 on pi through tailscale0 and it worked wonders. Qbittorent did connect and detected IP of rpi3. The best part is that opposed to wireguard, dedicated port does not have to be open in order for Dante to work. I see it as a win win! Now I'm hyped to go back to my homeland and install pi there.
