Did you mean Straight Vinaigrette?

First, if you're actually curious, I recommend perusing this community and reading a lot.

I'll do a short, non-exhaustive list that I will try to not turn into a rant.

Generative AI, LLMs, specifically is what I'll be referring to. Not things like image recognition or OCR.

  • All LLMs today are inherently using stolen data.
  • AI hyperscale data centers are ruining our environment
    • water
    • air
    • especially in communities that are already underserved
  • I want to spend what precious little time I have speaking and interacting with other Humans, not arguing with robots or even "Being more productive."
  • huge cybersecurity concerns
  • Something something economy, but this is tied with my humans point. If we're improving the economy by automating shit, while many are not getting the basic necessities of life, that's an issue.

An appeal to futility isn't helpful though. We can still have an impact, especially when movements grow.

Kinsey was awful, but almost every episode he was in was excellent!

(Assuming you're asking with best intent)

I'm suggesting we stop breeding "livestock" (sentient animals) into existence for a life of torture to then be killed and eaten by humans.

80% of agricultural land is used for animal agriculture. Rewilding most of that land, making some of it habitable, and the remaining converted to plant agriculture would be a far more eco-friendly solution.

What I think you're getting at with

If we stop caring for the cows, they'll die.

(paraphrased)

Which I agree is unethical; however, real world solutions don't happen immediately like that. A slow movement builds, and as demand for meat, dairy, eggs, etc. reduces, the supply will reduce over time until only a small portion of farmed animals remain. They should be cared for in a similar way that elephants on Sanctuaries or rescues are cared for.

Did you like Antimemetics Division? I saw the Short video with Jasika Nicole (Astrid from Fringe), and it felt like a mix between bad sci fi that took itself too seriously and a dumb joke.

Animal exploitation is not necessary though, and with only growing the plants for Humans, instead of also growing for non-human animals bred into existence to be killed, farms would use significantly less water.

Fuck, that's heartbreaking

The probable cause statement says Little had accidentally shot himself in the face.

19-year-old Arquez Phipps told police that he had a fully-loaded gun hidden between his mattress and box spring.

Phipps was charged Tuesday with first-degree endangering the welfare of a child with serious physical injury. He is currently being held on a $20,000 cash-only bond.

Some people struggle(d) with math. The wet spots on the paper are tears from the student crying.

Repeating the question was unfortunately a common method to "help," but it helps in the same way that repeating a sentence slower to someone who doesn't understand the language you're speaking helps (that is, it doesn't help at all).

I should have fought

I'm guessing this is referring to Google's captcha service being use at Archive.today

My favourite thing to do with Al is to have the kids create their main characters, some outline of a plot and have Al write the bedtime story.

Will Slappey

Frank Carlson interesting idea. I'll have to check that out. Which model do you like best for that?

I've been doing it for about a year now on ChatGPT. I reply to the same thread and stories are getting much better based on our feedback. The kids love giving the machine feedback on it's writing, lol! Have fun!

What's the pin to bust the AI bubble?

The comments on the original thread are all people trying to justify why they eat animals and that's ok, but this Zoo is unethical.

The Minneapolis City Council on Thursday approved an ordinance that would prohibit landlords from employing algorithms to set rent and vacancy rates.

The proposed ordinance would specifically ban the use of algorithms that use “non-public competitor data.” It passed by an 11-2 vote.

Wonsley said many of the corporate property management companies that use this technology operate student housing complexes around the University of Minnesota. College students are “particularly vulnerable to exploitation,” she said, because they’re often first-time renters who are constrained to living near campus.
