Personal experience and thus anecdotal I know, but the light rail line I used to take for work has had issues to say the least. A coworker ended up murdered in one of the more secluded stations two years ago. I've personally had a taser pulled on my face only to find out the guy was trying to sell it. All the cars reek of piss and I've seen someone having a mental health crisis try to peel off the thin padding off one of the seats.
I really want public transit to work but it does require a firm hand to keep people in line and safe in such enclosed areas. It's one of the few venues I'd actually welcome some increased security and fare enforcement in.

I like cursive too but I'd rather kids be taught some actually practical skills instead. Civics, home economics, geography (so we don't appear in those "idiots can't point at [insert country here] on a map" videos so often), and programming would be preferable.
I'm looking to buy a couple of ONVIF/RTSP IP cameras to hook up as part of a home security system and could use some help with the programming side of things. I've looked around a couple of Youtube guides but they all seem to skip over some minor but important details needed to install and run an open source NVR.
Could someone point me out to an online guide that's easy to follow? I'm still very much a beginner with Linux and don't know much about how to set up Docker or HomeLab as part of the NVR's installation process. I also need to remotely access my video feeds when not at home and would like to ask for some guidance on how one can go about setting that up on both the NVR and phone side.

I just downloaded FreeCAD to build a simple part and was following this tutorial to learn my way through the basics. Unfortunately I got stuck pretty quickly around the 2:38 part where I need to select a plane to start a drawing in. For some reason, the coordinate system planes don't show up even if the eye icon is lit up. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong here?
Upon posting a screenshot here, I think my CachyOS KDE theme might have something to do with the display as I view a mostly blank white screen while the screenshot is showing black for some reason. I've already tried changing the theme under Preferences but it seemed to make things worse, with some parts of the Start tab being unreadable.
EDIT: I should also point out that the FreeCAD client was downloaded via the CachyOS Package Manager. I heard sometimes using software from Flatpaks and other similar sources clashes with system themes. Should I use a different installation method?
