Some things are above your paygrade. Some things are someone else's job. Some things are subtler, like Mark Carney's response to interviewing. Some things are best left as mid terms are coming. Some things are not to haunt humanities great achievements by little men. And some things are best left alone

The value in cooking isn't in measurements or simulations. Cooking is subtle and varied: ingredients differ, animals and plants are never quite the same. No two dishes are the same. And nor would we want them to be, that's boring.

Replicators are the same as AI is today: fucking slop

The women are under way for sure. France thumping Italy, and England thrashing Ireland. So not great surprises, but this was a thriller, worth watching the highlights at least!

The irony overload is too much here. But also there is a story here about our love of alcohol. Happy Friday folks

Hullo my lovelies, how's it hanging this week? Who's still oan holiday, who's heading off? Who's been working too hard!

Oor weekly thread far we haver, gripe, jalouse, an gnash aboot aa'hings

A good read here about the nature of professional rugby union. Who is it for? What do punters want to see?

Angus is a fantastic part of Scotland, with unsung stories of rockstars, picts, bridies and smokies, castles, cathedrals, and nature reserves. With stunning scenery from the north to the south, east to west. A week there, based at this new resort, would spoil anyone for a holiday

Run in announced. Celtic looking very favourable imo. But I watch the oval ball, so fit dae ah ken?

I don't tend to watch the Women's game enough, but this was a nice read. I'll be checking out the Scotland side at least this w6n - which is less than a week away!

This is such a daft story I have to share it! Happy Monday folks, hope we're taking it easy - especially if you are working!

Amber means pay attention, unlike yellow which is aye, Scottish weather. Amber ye ignore at yer peril!

Awrite troops, how are we this week? Easter holidays for many, work was empty today!

He was very good. Feels a distant memory now, but the women's 6 nations is right around the corner

Is he gonna be Trumps bitch after all I wonder?

[–] Olap@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago

It certainly seems so. France and the UK lost so much prestige because of this. It marked a very real end of the British Empire in particular

1000 is just such arbitrary bullshit. And how many does that leave? How many are/were working on season passes???

None of that talented bunch couldn't have pivoted onto Unreal Tournament? Or some other fortnite spin-off?

Having seen what the ORM hate leads to. Just use the ORM folks. Far better in the long to do so! Nothing has come close to ActiveRecord imo in Typescript or Python sadly. Unless anyone has a library or two I should check out?

Don't forget rule #35 then too

Wow. This is huge, and puts doubt on ever walking on the moon again. The original plan was obviously nuts with its weird orbits and mad refueling profile, but it was a plan at least! II was due to send astronauts the furthest into space EVER about now also. What is III to accomplish? When could IV fly, and will lunar descent then occur?

Labour have so little positive to say you can see why he is saying this crap. Will they even publish a manifesto for Holyrood? Pretty sure nobody else has yet, and the Tory one is likely to be a pamphlet, with Reform's being a sheet of single ply loo roll

May is going to be a very bad time for Starmer. Cannot see him surviving this. Headlines of 'Bleeding red across the land' and 'Green shoots of revolutions' to become common. A strong possibility of 5th in Holyrood.
