Arguably it is a problem with the LLMs because they are being trained on and unknowable amount of garbage data. It's a garbage in garbage out problem, if the people training their LLMs are not vetting the data being input then you have to assume that any data output by the LLM contains some level of garbage.

The solution is to only use them for non-critical use cases and vett everything they output.

Err pretty sure that's not a thing. The biggest nuke detonated was tzar bomba and it most certainly was nowhere near devastating half the US. It was detonated in Kazakhstan. There still people living there and it's much smaller than the US.

I would suggest that dropping on on Iran would be a significant war crime, and a crime against humanity. At the very least the Trump and his chain of command would be wanted for war crimes across the globe including at least half the US.
