I support this decision, as it means we get more good IOF soldiers.

There’s a pretty high Pacific Islander population in my area. They treat it exactly as that: a place to make money. They make no attempt to assimilate and send their money back to their home country. It’s neat to see how close knit they all are, they often eat family style. That’s a closeness that is completely absent in American culture except for a few days in the year where you end up squabbling about politics with your grandparents.

There’s already a bunch of those, we don’t need any on the moon.

You think they weren’t planning on building another anyway? Silicon Valley is run by a death cult. TESCREAL cultists wants to slow cook the world with these fucking things.

Yeah, because once it’s made, it stops having any negative impact on the environment /s

[–] Hestia@hexbear.net 36 points 1 month ago

smuglord have you thought that maybe both sides are bad actually?

Lmao imagine thinking blowing up a data center is bad for the environment. Sooner it’s gone the better.

If a sniper is trying to kill me and my neighbor was letting them sit on their roof while they attempted to do so, I’d be a little upset with my neighbor.

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I've made a post on mutual aid. Part of me felt like I was taking away from others by asking for assistance, and that their needs were much greater than my own. I have a roof over my head — for now (I will get to this later), and a relatively stable job.

However, it has become clear to me that if I carry on how I have been doing, I will eventually be bled dry. I have known this for a while, but didn't feel inclined to pursue any specific career path in general. But that's all changing.

There are a lot of different forms of healthcare that trans folk like me have to undergo. I have recently restarted electrolysis after taking a break due to my electrologist moving, and it was a pain to find a new one, there's not many people in my area who provide that service. This has led me to come to the conclusion that I should become an electrologist myself. This would allow me to pursue a career that would not only make my financial situation much more manageable, but give me the opportunity to provide care to my trans comrades.

After doing some research, the school closest to me has a few programs, a 400 hour long program and one that is 600 hours, costing $9,500 and $12,500 respectively, with a $500 registration fee. Unfortunately this amount needs to be paid before the classes, or through monthly payments over a period of time that is too short to effect things in a meaningful way. I would prefer to go through the 600 hour program to give myself the best foundation possible, but am making my plans with the 400 hour course in mind.

I am not relying on people to be able to cover the full amount. I have decided that that best way to move forward would be to stop paying the mortgage payments that have been bleeding me dry and to save that money up. This is a incredibly risky decision which is going to destroy my credit, but I believe it will be worth it in the long run.

Times are uncertain though, and I have a lot of other costs that I need to deal with while I can. I need to get carpel tunnel surgery done, so I can learn electrolysis without having to worry about my hands holding me back. (Thanks manufacturing jobs) I also need to continue electrolysis on myself which will likely slow down my savings, and money to relocate cities. Cost of living is also going to skyrocket due to the death throes of the American Empire, which I will be doing my best to mitigate with my recent purchase of an E-bike so I can cut down on my over-reliance on gas.

I understand that many of you are tapped out, and the coming months —and years— are going to only get more and more challenging. But if the world goes to shit, I'll at least be able to provide healthcare in a post apocalyptic wasteland.

I will be reposting about this every month or so, I will hopefully be able to save up enough money by next year.

My cashapp account is $SpicySerenade

I will likely add other sources for donations, but I haven't set them up yet.

I heard you liked dystopian young adult novels so made reality one for you. Hope you enjoy it :)

Except the war with Iran is going to displace a lot of brown people

Hey everyone! We’re under new management and this guy is now in charge of the site.

I did a similar post on Slops community, asking for feedback regarding how specifically their comm is moderated, I did not ask for their overall sentiments of Hexbear at large. "Slop" is not a clear demographic though.

This comm is different though, as the demographic is clearer. From your perspective as people who are more covid/health aware, what are your concerns with not only how this comm is moderated, but the site in general?

I have come to the conclusion that meta-posts suck. They drain everyone of their energy, and they quickly fill up with essay long paragraphs that I have no desire or attention span to wade through and fuck up my mental health.

Rather than focus on site-wide issues, the purpose of this post is to get feedback on this specific comm. What issues do you see here specifically that you would like us to focus more on?

I hope to address problems in a pinpoint manner, and then cross reference those concerns across other comms through similar posts in order to address the bigger picture in the end.

I have no intention of having this post pinned. Too much visibility will drown out everyone's voices in a cacophony of noise. Please keep your comments relatively short and concise, using frequent paragraph breaks for longer comments so that the information can be easily digested. It helps with my ADHD

If this goes smoothly, I plan to work my way through other comms I moderate and address the specific problems there, too.

edit: I was advised to pin it to this comm, it shall remain unpinned to the main page though.

Skill issue. I personally wouldn’t have gotten shot. I would’ve done a dodge roll and used invincibility frames to avoid the bullet.

I was curious to see how he would be attempting to address the genocide so I took a look at his channel to see how far back I’d have to scroll to find any video about Gaza, and how he’s spin things in Israel’s favor. Literally every single video going back over a month was just cheeto man bad. I got tired of scrolling so I just searched directly for a video about Israel/Palestine and the most recent one was over a year ago.

Guess he realized the only way to maintain his “reasonable lib” persona was to make videos exclusively about trump, otherwise people would realize how much of a rabid Zionist he is
