This month I haven’t been able to get enough in food vouchers to see me through the month. And now my landlady is going away for a few weeks so I have no-one to drive me to my hospital appointments. The nearest bus stop is nearly a mile away and due to being disabled I can’t walk far. I don’t qualify for the free St Johns ambulance transport and you have to pay for hospital transport. I’m a cancer and stroke patient, I really need to get to my appointments but I’ll have to cancel them if i can’t get there. I’ve got no-one else to help me.

Hello family:) <3!!! , I just wanted to share a small moment from today. Lately the house has felt so different. There’s still a lot of stress around the deadlines and the remaining amount we need but there’s also this feeling of hope that we haven’t felt in a long time.

Sometimes we just sit together and talk about what life might be like for them in Canada. Little things keep coming up, like wondering what the weather will feel like, what the first few days might be like and how different it will be from everything we’ve known in the camps.

It’s such a strange mix of emotions happiness, fear, excitement and disbelief all at once.

After five years of surviving camp life and not knowing what tomorrow would look like, it still feels unreal that they are finally this close to a new beginning.

We’re still working toward the remaining amount $ 614 for their required medical vaccinations before the flight, and every share, boost or bit of support still means so much to us
