Oh god tankie bullshit is smearing itself on our news community again

It reads like a child who's never had a human interaction in their life and was raised by Elon Musk Stans.

AI slop is void of any creativity or originality, and the infrastructure required to make it is killing the environment at an unprecedented rate while also poisoning drinking water and driving up costs everywhere.

But hey, at least your mom got to show you Fruit Love Island on your iPad, I guess.

In a state already facing a water crisis.

Yet they'll still vehemently and gleefully vote Republican.

I feel bad for the few there who see this crisis for what it is. Expect water refugees from the American Southwest very soon.

I for one think it's awesome, so it's definitely not a "we".

>> refers to a broadly anti-AI group of people

>> I use the word "we" as someone in the group

Are you using a translator? You don't seem to understand English.

Propaganda? Yes. Slop? Eh.

No, it's still slop to its core.

Entertaining? Embarrassing for the US? Absolutely.

Any slop can be entertaining, or used to dunk on someone or a country that deserves it. Its still slop

We don't like Iran's LEGO propaganda slop.

I vehemently oppose the war and the US and Israel are objectively the perpetrators.

That doesn't mean Iran's gov isn't also insanely authoritarian and evil, or that their propaganda isn't slop.

I've noticed an uptick in the number of pro-AI posts on this platform.

Various posts with titles similar to "When will people stop being afraid of AI" or "Can we please acknowledge AI was very needed for X"

Can't tell if its the propaganda machine invading, or annoying teenage tech-bros who are detached from reality.

Because AI doesn't do shit for you, not in reality.

The fantasy was a world in which all needs are met because of AI.

The reality is AI is massacring jobs and being put in charge of systems it is fundamentally unfit to work in. Its also poisoning our environment, skyrocketing energy costs and computer parts, while also being used for mass surveillance.

What is with all this bullshit pro-AI slop propaganda I've been seeing on Lemmy, lately? Been seeing lots of mfers invade these communities and spread bullshit.

Everyone should be especially worried about any laws authoritarians push under the guise of "its for the kids".

Especially as the birthrate has dropped like a rock.

How tf can Virginia's Supreme Court oppose an amendment? It literally overrides them

[–] HazardousBanjo@lemmy.world 44 points 5 days ago (3 children)

Fucking fascist assholes.

Is this something that could realistically pass Virginia's state congress as an amendment to their state constitution?

[–] HazardousBanjo@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

I think its better reworded as "don't idolize people; everyone is flawed".

We are living through the collapse of capitalism. Countries will fall I to 1 of 2 categories in response.

  1. Socialist
  2. Fascist

Given most countries are lead by the hyper rich, expect to see most being forcibly directed to #2

>> US is sending FAR more troops and munitions to the ME

>> US and Iran exchange fire multiple times according to both sides

Is the ceasefire in the room with us?

I was watching this video on Idubbbz's rise and fall and it got me thinking about the Content Cop he made against H3H3.

As far as I could see, the Content Cop and Content Deputy generally hammered home accurately how much of a royal piece of shit Ethan Klein and his former IDF wife have become. It really should have been an easy slam dunk as H3H3 is so easily provably wrong on so many issues regarding Israel and the genocide in Palestine, as well as the countless controversies Ethan Kelin and Hila Klein have publicly gone through.

However, it appears that Idubbbz totally lost this fued, not because of his arguments against H3H3, but because those were totally overshadowed by his own extraordinary controversies and greed, as well as seemingly using the genocide in Palestine as a backdrop to his fued with H3H3, which feels very exploitative.

It got me wondering, what are some other instances of public figures who were totally in the right on an issue, but lost due to other, tangentially or totally unrelated issues?

I often see a lot of praise of Tito for successfully keeping the various ethnic groups of Yugoslavia at peace throughout his tenure, and thus keeping Yugoslavia together.

However, isn't one's success greatly determined by their legacy, and what they left behind when they died?

The country blew up, fractured into genocidal conflict and lost some the best parts of their socialism.

It seems more that Tito didn't actually fix Yugoslavia's underlying ethnic conflicts, but rather successfully swept them under the rug during his tenor.
