If that's the reason, it doesn't work haha.

Closet space for rags and light bulbs?

I see it everywhere. At first I thought these people were just paranoid, afraid that people would interpret a naked clothesline as "my owner doesn't even use me. Take me!". But maybe it's a trend? I don't know.

Stir-fry flavoured ice cream.

I bet you sit on the TV and watch the sofa.

I downloaded Blorp a few days ago, and mostly it's been really good. The only problem I have is that I can't sort by "new". I click on the running man icon and the menu shows up empty, except for some faint arrows. I clicked on an arrow and the word "new" appeared, but I wasn't able to select it. Help appreciated!

Hinged: Ditmas by Mumford and Son (the only song of theirs that I like)

Unhinged: For What it's Worth by Placebo

That was the first one I thought of. I knew it would already be in the comments haha.

Preferably both. But if I have to choose only one, definitely night. Keeps the bed clean, and helps me sleep a bit better.

I for one am deeply offended by this post. Deeply offended. It has ruined my day. I am now crying.

Android, tried Waterfox/Yandex/Chrome/DDG.

Whenever I try to go from one page to another, it takes forever to load. I've tried clearing the cache, and my internet connection is solid for everything else I do. Is there a way to fix it? It's maddening!

A Coat

By William Butler Yeats

I made my song a coat

Covered with embroideries

Out of old mythologies

From heel to throat;

But the fools caught it,

Wore it in the world’s eyes

As though they’d wrought it.

Song, let them take it

For there’s more enterprise

In walking naked.

For me, it's a constant question of: does the good of this person make up for the bad. I think that's fair. I don't expect anyone to be perfect, but I can't enjoy art made by someone whose misdeeds/horrible ideology overshadow the greatness of the art.

It might be worthwhile looking at alternatives like Fluxer or Matrix.

No one conversed with me there anyway haha. I found it to be such an unwelcoming place. And the data leaks and age verification crap as well - I hope there's a decent alternative somewhere because I miss chatting with people.

Edit: I figured it out finally. I had to uninstall and reinstall the app.

Hello.

I had an idea to make English, but each phoneme is swapped for an opposite. This is easy to do for vowels - for example, /i/ and /u/ are opposites, because one is front and the other is back. I tried to figure out a similar system for consonants and have been stuck ever since. So, how would you calculate an opposite for /m/, or /h/, or /r/? I'm sure there must be a way to do it, but for the life of me I can't figure it out.

I'm finding it hard to find anyone else who smokes it. I knew a guy on reddit, but spez made me so angry I napalmed my reddit accounts without salvaging anything. Oh well.

So I got a small bag of almond meal and I know nothing about it, except that it's mainly used for baking (which I'm hopeless at). I'm broke and low on food so I can't afford to not eat it, or get a recipe really wrong. Is there anything with almond meal I can cook in a fry pan or in a grill?

Well, it's going to be a pretty miserable Christmas for me, and I'm sure for others too. I figured it would be a good idea to have some place on Lemmy (I checked the Christmas instance and the last post was 2 years ago...) where those at a loose end could at least have each other for company throughout the Christmas period. Any ideas on how to make this happen appreciated!

Hello!

I tried a lot of other Lemmy apps, and the browser version, and none of them quite worked. But so far, Voyager seems to work well, and the settings are easy to navigate, even for a luddite like me. Good stuff. Keep up the good work! 👍

Hi! I just watched Tokyo Grandfathers and season 1 of Rewrite, and am quickly developing a taste for anime. Problem is, where does a noob start? I'm not overly into fight scenes - it's OK if it's important to the story, but I don't like fight scenes/explosions etc for their own sake. I like anime with a good storyline, relatable characters, make you think, and some cheeky bits of humour. Any recommendations appreciated!

I'm not a huge movie fan, but I want to broaden my horizons a bit. I'll offer my list (that I've rewatched so many times I'm a bit tired of them):

  • Young Poisoner's Handbook

  • Full Metal Jacket

  • Life of Brian

  • Holy Grail

  • Sunset Boulevard

  • Curse of the Golden Flower

  • The Nightingale

  • Downfall

  • Amadeus

  • Once Were Warriors

  • Dusk to Dawn

I would say it's not possible. The art IS the artist. The art only is what it is because the artist is who they are. But a lot of people seem to be very comfortable with the idea of separating the art from the artist. What say Lemmy?
