Does he know who Tate is? Tate might just recognize Fieri and is trying to chum it up with him.

🀷 A picture alone is not enough context in this case.

I'm wondering the same.

is there anything about this mission that demanded a manned spaceflight?

Yes, a lot actually.

You don't just send astronauts into space for a photo op. You pair the photo op with critical testing of systems required to support the next iterations of the mission.

You're criticizing NASA, a public entity, as if they are in the same club as the billionaires making phallus-shaped rockets and putting pop stars into space. They're not the same.

Also, the Artemis Program's entire budget so far, over the span of ~ a decade is 93 billion. The US spends 997 billion on its war machine every single year.

Maybe they could bomb, shoot, or invade 10% less in the future and give that money to support those in need?

One of the ways it could benefit humanity is to offload the destruction of our environment in pursuit of rare earth metals, natural gases, to a moon or planet where the environment does not support life.

Strip mining and fracking are actively and rapidly destroying our planet. Stopping those activities here would be a massive improvement to our chances of survival on Earth into the future.

Black metal. Lots of shitty people have used it as a vessel for their shitty views. I don't support them financially, but god damn do some of them make great music.

One recognizable upper-crust name would be Varg Vikernes and his Burzum project. Absolute shitstain of a huma. But my god does he know how to craft atmosphere.

Yup. I could tell by the trailers that it was completely different and super arcadey. I waited to play it at a friend's house before considering buying it and once I felt the driving for the first time, I never touched the game again. It just killed so much of the fun for me.

Wow, I had no idea. That's so interesting. Thanks for sharing!

Is it common in Finnish for proper name spelling to be altered like that? "Vatasen"/Vatanen

Finnish is probably my favourite foreign (to me) language. The Finnish accent in English just captures my attention for some reason. Also love how unique it is on paper. Just super cool. There's a lot to admire about Finns and Finland in general. I'd really like to take a trip out to Oulu and jist ride a bike everywhere.

Ari Vatanen was a badass too. I wish my country had rally heritage like that.

100% agree. The ending made zero sense to me as a kid, but playing it again last year and seeing how borderline prophetic some of its themes have become was absolutely mindblowing.

Yet so prescient. It's wild how well the themes blend in with our current society.

Is this just willful ignorance, or...?

Killer track by a killer band. Had a lot of fun jamming to this one tonight.

Dude just wrote an entire plugin himself that models the IIC+ based on the schematic. Comparison between the Mark V and the plugin at 13:00. Incredible work.

This is where I'm at after two days of progress on this incredible track. I had a truly flawless playthrough on my second try this evening but failed to hit record in Reaper so this take comes about ~20 takes after that absolutely heartbreaking mistake.

This is honestly the only AB track I can get through at the moment since all their songs are typically incredibly fast and difficult. My picking hand is just not able to keep up with that stuff yet.

Big shoutout to the band for making their tabs available for purchase. It's been an adventure learning this stuff and it has seriously leveled up my playing in the process. Check out this link to their merch site for tabs and other stuff: https://massacremerch.com/collections/artificial-brain

The tone I'm using is a custom patch in my AxeFX II using the FAS Modern III model - a tweaked version of the classic 5150 - and a DiMarzio Blaze in the bridge position.

So we have a pear tree in our back yard that decided this was the year it was going to successfully bear fruit.

Its been extremely dry and we've been away a lot so I haven't cut the grass in about 8 weeks. I didn't even notice the tree had ripe fruit on it until yesterday. Stoked to check it out I walked over to pick some and noticed there's about ten full grown pears rotting on the ground below the tree that are just absolutely infested with wasps.

The tree is near our fence with the neighbors so I gotta deal with this fast so they don't get overwhelmed by wasps.

Does anyone know of a safe way to approach this? I broke my ribs and fucked up my back on a dirt bike last weekend so I can't exactly do anything that requires quick reactions or running away.

Any ideas would be super helpful πŸ™

[EDIT] The solution was to wait until nightfall for them to return to their nest. I was able to pick up all the fruit and dispose of it with ease with maybe 5 wasps hanging around, seemingly in a stupor due to low light and cold air, instead of what looked like a few hundred during the day.

Hell yeah! The boys are back.

Hey everyone,

Not sure I've seen this particular technique before.

Here's a tutorial on how you can use REAPER's stock gate plugin to generate MIDI that you can send to an EQ to modulate frequency bands to eliminate bleed in your drum tracks. This is super powerful on toms.

Inspired by the FabFilter Pro-MB bleed reduction tricks.

This is an all instruments/vocals scratch-made cover of the track that got me into Black Metal. A truly iconic masterpiece of atmosphere. I always wanted to do a cover of this track. I'm very happy with how this turned out.

Thanks to Yabridge (https://github.com/robbert-vdh/yabridge) I was able to record, mix, and master this entirely on a Linux system (Nobara) running Reaper with stock Reaper plugins, many FOSS plugins, and a couple choice paid plugins; namely GGD Invasion and Sketch Cassette II. Everything else was free or open source by choice.
