It only seemed fitting to have Lemmy himself as the icon.

Killer track by a killer band. Had a lot of fun jamming to this one tonight.

Exodus - Goliath

The new record by Exodus. Still they have the best guitar sound in thrash metal in my opinion.

However Exodus have done better than this collection of new songs. IMO it's a solid recording but it misses the last bit of spicyness. There's just one step missing to insanity. And this insanity is what makes brilliant Exodus albums special to me.

Maybe it's because Zetro left once again?

Carcass were asked to do a remix, but in fact they rerecorded the music and overlaid Björk's vocal from the original.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Philip Anthony Campbell, who passed away peacefully last night following a long and courageous battle in intensive care after a complex major operation. Phil was a devoted husband, a wonderful father, and a proud and loving grandfather, known affectionately as “Bampi.” He was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be missed immensely. His legacy, music and the memories he created with so many will live on forever. We kindly ask that our family’s privacy is respected during this incredibly difficult time.

This album begins the proper modern era of Mamaleek, after the trip-hopy ‘Out of Time’: they cranked metal back up, making the music busier and noisier, simultaneously infusing it with bluesy sensibility. Their trademark sound switches also started here, getting the listener more song per song. As usual, the changes didn't affect the recognizable atmosphere of the songs.

This was the first time Mamaleek were a full band instead of the two dudes, and gave performances. In fact, the album was recorded live, with “little to no overdubs”.

Tracks from this album have been posted before, but the whole album is cool.

I think that this can serve as a litmus test for Mastodon. If you don't like this performance, you'll probably not like the band at all.

I happen to like it, and hope anyone seeing it does too ::
