“Failure of the state to take appropriate action to protect the climate system from GHG [greenhouse gas] emissions including through fossil fuel production, fossil fuel consumption, the granting of fossil fuel exploration licenses, or the provision of fossil fuel subsidies may constitute an internationally wrongful act which is attributable to that state,” the court wrote in its unanimous decision.

Bold of them to assume we will have international courts at all, let alone governments willing to pay reparations to the dead. Come to think of it, I'm not sure there will be any rule of law in the +6°C world we are marching into in doubletime.

Warning about consequences later presume there will be a later for those involved.

Given our dollar tracks the price of oil I'd say that then makes up screwed. I hope the poor didn't need anything from the government.

Or we could do everything in our power to divorce our economy from oil rather than clinging desperately to a doomed business model.
