Best I can give him is that she got the job at least partially because she's a black woman. Putting a black woman in SCOTUS was a campaign promise. One made early enough that I doubt he had Jackson already in mind when he made it. She's presumably the most qualified black woman his admin could find, if not the most qualified candidate overall.

DEI does exist in some places but the reason it exists in the first place is wild when you think about it.
"Hey it looks like we are 95% more likely to reject black people over white people and it's causing trouble.
with this stupid quota that wouldn't have to exist if we just didn't hire the scum of the earth for HR and recruiting positions, we offset that percentage to a whopping 60% so let's go team."
And then people go protest black people getting jobs while quota thing continues.
Yeah and there are better tactics but they're hard. I've heard of orchestras having auditioners be given a number, have to take off their shoes, and play from behind a curtain. It eliminates any risk of race or gender being involved in the decision. It's just hard to scale that to other stuff
I don't know how Twitter works, I've never used it. Does Charlie definitely see these responses? Or, does he likely have someone managing his social media accounts for him?
It doesn't really matter if he sees them, he already knows he is a disingenuous twat. The reality is his followers will see only the tweet as they scroll on by and this response will be somewhere under the fold mixed in with all the bots and simpletons circle jerking about how "true" this tweet is.
This is why these Twitter gotchas don't mean anything. Yelling into the void doesn't break into other people's media bubble it just tells the algorithms that this tweet is getting engagement and should be bumped up.

I'm a diversity hire. Everyone else in my department has degrees and the others on my team are geniuses in their fields. I'm just some dumb fuckhead who's always excited to learn something new and I'm passionate about supporting public education.
The uncomfortable truth is that you can be both qualified and a DEI hire. A lot of jobs are competitive and have multiple excellent candidates. 🤷♂️
For some hiring managers it is absolutely a bonus to add to the office diversity mix. You get a qualified candidate and you get to feel or look good for having a diverse team.
Of course for other hiring managers, the diversity candidate gets the short end of the stick because (insert excuse here) blah blah culture fit.
But Uncle Tom(as) is ok? What a hypocrite.
