You say brain implants might be expensive, but as technology, and time, progresses the price will drop significantly.

Unless it's a Sony gaming device, in that case the price will go up after time.

fwiw I use Audacious which has Winamp skin support, so looks the same.

Really? Right in front of my GTX 1060 3GB?

Sike, it's cutting wire. Anyone who falls ends up cubed like that Resident Evil scene.

It's only retro if it's a modern thing made to look old, otherwise it's vintage.

There are 3rd party controllers that are wireless

Backup backup backup

You spent time setting it up, now keep that time investment safe.

Create a disk image at least once and keep a more regular copy of your important files.

I said often, not always.

Also a great way to clog the drain, considering how much my cats shed.

I'm curious about your orbital kill counts. I got 70 kills today with a napalm barrage. I thought it was a lot, but I'd like to know how big the number can go.

What's your biggest orbital death count?

Hi, I have an Power Clutch SG by Asciiware (also known as the Sega Mega Stick), a controller for the Sega Mega Drive. It's one of my favorite controllers.

Unfortunately my son dropped it a few years ago and snapped the joystick clean off. I have disassembled and removed the joystick. The snap is clean and the 2 parts fit together neatly. I'm looking for the best way to fix this. The joystick itself has no aftermarket alternatives as far as I can find, and buying another one of these to harvest the stick itself is an exercise in futilty as it would leave the other unit without a stick.

The big question is, what adhesive brand/type is best to bond these 2 parts together again? Especially considering the stress this might have to endure.

Hi! My kid needs to use some special software due to some underlying issues. I was looking into how it works and it basically loads a PDF version of his books and then just allows him to digitally use the exercises by adding text, drawing, etc. It also has TTS functionality but we don't use it.

As the annotation is the most important part of this software, I'm looking for something similar, basically non-destructive overlaying of a PDF, and the ability to edit these overlayed annotations at a later time, removing or changing answers given in the digital textbook.

They are currently using software that is in general use, but it's licensed and calling it "janky" is wording things friendly. I'm not looking to replace this software, just doing some research.

So, to summarize, I'm wondering if there already is a FLOSS program that allows you to annotate a PDF (not edit! the contents that are already in the PDF may not be changed) by adding text, drawing lines or shapes, etc.

Now that the problem with inline images being too large when you scroll past them and back is solved, now you can't scroll upward past inline images anymore unless you scroll "fast" enough. The view instantly jumps back down a little bit and keeps bouncing for as long the scroll inertia lets it.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Just came across this game and it's great! It has a good feel to it, only a few minor annoyances with regards to some added mechanics, but they can be disabled. Regardless, I finished the game as-is.

It's a great mix between the original 8bit levels revisited and demakes of 16bit levels. It always felt right. I grew up with the 16bit Sonic and the 8bit Game Gear version.

My only big grievance is that the second jungle level uses the SMS version of not being able to scroll back down. It would not be an issue if the game didn't keep prematurely scrolling upwards when you jump. It leaves you nowhere to land, and touching the bottom edge kills you. I lost the most lives on this level. The GG version didn't have this, you could fall back down to a lower part of the level.

Lots of playable characters, like Tails, Knuckles and Fang. They can have their own paths in the levels that Sonic can't reach. You can become Super Sonic. Great experience all around.

Besides having replayability (time attack, encore, playing with other characters, ...) there is also a Sonic SMS Remake 2 and 3, will be playing these next.

Played on my Odroid GO Ultra running Rocknix and portmaster.

I rate this 9/10.

Hi, I'm looking for this character in a font, would like to know the name of the character itself:

Alternatively looks like

Thanks!

My kids wanted to do a little "challenge" of trying to see which one of them would be able to finish the original Sonic game the fastest, so I set up a stream that showed both their streams at the same time and broadcasted it onto Twitch.tv.

After the stream was done I was checking the video and got a message part of my video got muted because it contained "copyrighted content owned or controlled by a third party". It muted a minute before the coprighted part and a minute after, too.

Apparantly someone made a song that uses the Robotnik theme, meaning no one will be able to stream this game anymore without getting this part muted?

Here is the "song" that supposedly counts as the copyrighted original

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CCE-QFs0e4

It's 3 years old and has 100 views.

The actual original (by Masato Nakamura):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAK1pnfod7A

Full message on my video:

"Audio for portions of this video has been muted as it appears to contain copyrighted content owned or controlled by a third party."

Here are the appeal options:

I'm not sure how to appeal this, but I'm not sure if I could appeal this (or under what reason). What do you think?

This is giving me warm vibes, so I'd love to find a theme that is like this. Does anyone know any? I'm using GNOME, but any DE that can pull this off is fine.

I have a SMB share on a computer. It's set to anonymous access, meaning I don't have to enter a password to access the shares. All my PC's at home are Linux so this has served me for many years. I now have a Windows 11 laptop from work that refuses to connect to this device. The message it gives me is you can't access this shared folder because your organization's security policies block unauthenticated guest access

I have tried adding a new share that requires authenticated access, but Windows keeps giving the same error.

I have changed the protocol settings to be higher, but they had no effect. Here is my current config:

#======================= Global Settings =====================================
[global]

	protocol = SMB3_11
	client min protocol = SMB3
	client max protocol = SMB3_11

	workgroup = REDACTED.HOME

	server string = SAMBA

	map to guest = bad user

	hosts allow = 192.168.1. 127.

	printcap name = /etc/printcap
	load printers = no

	log file = /var/log/samba/%m.log

	max log size = 50

	security = user

#============================ Share Definitions ==============================
[smbshare]
   path = /mnt/share
   public = yes
   only guest = yes
   writable = yes
   browseable = yes
   create mask = 0777
   directory mask = 0777
   printable = no
   guest ok = yes

[smbshareauth]
   comment = Authenticated share
   path = /mnt/share
   read only = no
   public = yes

This config still works for my anonymous share on my Linux machine, but (still) not on Windows 11 with the authenticated share. Removing the anonymous share from the config and leaving only the authenticated share does nothing for Windows 11, still same error.

Protocol before was

	protocol = SMB3
	client min protocol = SMB2
	client max protocol = SMB3

I tried to connect to \\192.168.1.5\smbshareauth but that gives the above error. Help is greatly appreciated!

I would love to have a button on images in Jerboa that would completely invert the colors of an image. My retinas keep getting burned when I'm opening a post on my dark themed phone that is of a white image with text. It would be great to be able to view/read the image this way.

PS double tapping an image zooms it in waaaay too far. It should zoom to 100% size. My biggest pet peeve when trying to enlarge images.

I have 15 VM's running for clients and I'm looking for a way to keep the tools up to date without having to connect to each server and do it manually. A few examples are WinDirStat, Firefox, SSMS, Filelocator, etc.

We have expanded recently and I'm at the limits of doing this manually. These servers are not domain joined and are in separate virtual networks.
