Replace Americans by the British

[–] M137@lemmy.today 4 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I say other way around, there's no fat, sugar (especially HFCS) or carcinogenic chemicals in it.

[–] alcoholicorn@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 weeks ago

Well obviously you need to add a stick of butter and handful of salt, wtf kind of boring potatoes are you making?

[–] nilloc@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 2 weeks ago

There is some form of processed butter and cream in that packet already. And probably microplastic in the lining of the pouch, if not coming off the machine that processed the potatoes.

A nice refreshing bottle of Gotatoes.

BRB trademarking "Gotatoes"

[–] FenrirIII@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

Electrolytes

[–] ThisOne@lemmy.world 32 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (4 children)

Thru hikers are fine with this. Though I used a ziploc so I could reuse the bag multiple times. Add some wild garlic too.

[–] nightofmichelinstars@sopuli.xyz 10 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Did you use a spoon or did you cut a hole in the corner pastry bag style and tape it back up next time?

[–] ThisOne@lemmy.world 13 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Spoon but I also turned it inside out to lick it clean. More sanitary that way for the next night

[–] NakedNateRollerSkate@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Normal people think you are joking, but as hiker trash I've been doing the same for years and I love it. I usually add some cheese, an olive oil pouch, salt, pepper, and maybe some dehydrated veggies and a cut up summer sausage if I'm really hungry. It makes for an excellent dish.

This is called "cold soaking" in the backpacking community but the bottle is a neat innovation.

[–] dream_weasel@sh.itjust.works 18 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I heard Mormon teens use that turn of phrase for a different thing.

[–] incompetent@programming.dev 3 points 2 weeks ago

LOL! I just recently learned about soaking.

This calls for a piping bag or something only slightly more rigid like a kewpie mayo bottle. You aren’t going to get more than a few squeezes out of that water bottle.

What kind of monster does this without butter?

[–] TrackenDaKracken@lemmy.world 23 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I think the flexibility of the cheap water bottle is a plus here. Also, sucking is an option. On the bottle, I mean.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 weeks ago

sucking is an option

Sometimes unavoidable, even.

[–] PapaStevesy@lemmy.world 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Powdered mash usually already has plenty of butter/butter flavor, the packet in the meme for instance says it has butter and sour cream.

Just double the water:potato ratio for a hearty potato slurry on the go.

Mashed potatoes is my favorite and it's is an affront to God.

[–] Prunebutt@slrpnk.net 18 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Now put it in a bad dragon product!

[–] glitchdx@lemmy.world 14 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I'm not sure I want mash in my ass......

[–] Prunebutt@slrpnk.net 12 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Are you afraid your ass can't handle the hot, creamy stuff?

[–] glitchdx@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

fuuuuuuk, when you put it like that

[–] glitchdx@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

fuckit, why not. I tried the dragon cum drink and that was awesome

[–] glitchdx@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Changed my mind again after actually thinking about it. I do not want to clean starch out of my toy.

[–] insanemantis@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

If there's any still in there, you're doing it wrong

You're supposed to start with a whole potato and mash it inside yourself with the bad dragon.

[–] digital_man@lemmy.world 15 points 2 weeks ago

Yooo, new boy meal dropped!

[–] TheStaffmaster@lemmy.world 14 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

Eat the powder and then drink the water. Saves a plastic bottle. Not only does it assert dominance, it's the eco friendly option!

Hot water would melt that bottle if you wanted extra micro plastics.

[–] alcoholicorn@lemmy.ml 10 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

So you can mix that with some flour and water in a gallon bag, cut the corner, and squeeze into boiling tomato sauce.

Homemade tomato sauce with homemade gnocchi in 20 minutes is p great.

If you need a protein, you can start your sauce with thin discs of sausage, get all the grease out of the sausage and use it to fry up some garlic (maybe add oil if there's not enough grease), chili peppers, onion, then add tomatoes, canned is fine, and water if needed.

[–] FishFace@piefed.social 8 points 2 weeks ago

I gagged. Upvote for you.

This is, by far, the least vile thing he ever made and/or ate.

[–] hOrni@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I think it would actually be better if You ate the powder and washed it down with water.

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 8 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Do you even own a set of intestines?

You would think too little water would make them terrible, but too much water makes the texture unimaginably bad

Why isn't soup sold in a bottle like this?

Also, don't eat soup out of a plastic bottle.

[–] olafurp@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

Most bottles made in this shape are unsafe to heat. It's not common so it's not cheap.

[–] Sarmyth@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago

Campbell's does make a sipping soup line sold in cups with drinking holes. It is....fine.

[–] TomMasz@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

That last panel is remarkably disturbing.

[–] Allero@lemmy.today 5 points 2 weeks ago

Preparing for a space mission

[–] buzz86us@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

The only way to eat it is to throw it in the waffle maker.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

Poor Man's Huel

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 5 points 2 weeks ago

Classic? Boring. Gimme the roasted garlic butter or fully loaded. Those smack.

[–] HerbGrower@slrpnk.net 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

You get mashed potato in sachets?

[–] glitch1985@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

I wouldn't consider them mashed. We get dehydrated processed potatoes in sachets.
