It's not a gender or sex issue. What the heck

I’m judging them based on their actions.

Bosnia, Greece, Honduras, India, Mexico, Moldova, Peru, Thailand and more

Did you bother even searching this and clicking the first result?

This meme is about superpowers.

Then what the heck is it doing talking about leaders in a political community?

[–] HK65@sopuli.xyz 9 points 10 months ago

It's not like von der Leyen is not involved in corruption scandals or is not pushing a surveillance state.

It's not about the leader, it's the system.

The right is definitely getting stronger in europe too. Just because Giorgia Meloni is a woman doesn't mean she won't do horrible shit. The cruelty of our ruling classes only sees gender when they can wield it against others like a cudgel.

Giorgio Meloni doesn’t lead the European Union.

I didn't realize this was in reference to the leader of the EU and assumed it was in regard to europe as a whole having female leaders be much more common. My fault for not reading closely enough. My point stands however, Meloni was just a convenient example

I don’t support her… she is homophobic.

[–] stepan@lemmy.ca -1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

You support EUs neoliberal, imperialist capitalist Ursula the Cecaelia based on her gametes. That's pretty TERFy even if unintentional.

[–] Sunshine@lemmy.ca 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

That's really jumping to conclusions, I'm just saying she behaves better than those listed authoritarian men. Sure I would prefer a leftist over her. Though I haven't heard of her being transphobic.

[–] stepan@lemmy.ca -2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

You are being a TERF, not Ursula, by suggesting gender matters when it comes to leadership.

[–] Sunshine@lemmy.ca 1 points 9 months ago

The most important thing is someone's character, I prefer Bernie Sanders over Kamala Harris. In this situation I'm joking how the woman acts smarter on the world stage.

At first I was confused, then I realized! Phew 😅

Only non germans could possibly consider VdL in any position of power a good thing.

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 3 points 10 months ago

The EU is currently neoliberaling itself into irrelevancy, so if that's your standard for competency then... yeah.

[–] optissima@lemmy.ml 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Liz Truss is one such example of women leading EU thought
