If only there was a way to know you're on the wrong side of an issue...

Who cares about who either of these people are?

[–] Shindo66@lemmy.world 20 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Robert Kraft is the name that everyone should be talking about

[–] Rat_in_a_hat@lemmy.ca 3 points 6 days ago

Pourque no los dos?

[–] mrmisses@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

Nah people who have the power to stand up to kraft but don't are equally shit. Ed could have pulled a Green Day but didn't

[–] gnate@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

It's helpful to be aware of fascists. Tommy has very little exposure in the USA, however.

[–] Malica@lemmy.zip 3 points 6 days ago

Ed Sheeran: "I'm not political."

Neutrality always sides with the aggressor...and the aggressors know this.

In case anybody else is like me and has never heard of tommy robinson (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tommy_Robinson) :

Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon (né Yaxley; born 27 November 1982), better known as Tommy Robinson, is a British far-right, anti-Islam activist. Described as "one of [the] UK's most prominent far-right activists",[1] he co-founded the English Defence League (EDL), serving as its leader from 2009 to 2013.

Before the EDL, Robinson was a member of the British National Party (BNP), a British fascist political party, from 2004 to 2005. For a short time in 2012, he was joint vice-chairman of the British Freedom Party (BFP). In 2015, after leaving the EDL, he became involved with the development of Pegida UK, a now-defunct British chapter of the German Pegida. From 2017 to 2018, he wrote and appeared in videos on the Canadian website Rebel News. In 2018, he also served as a political advisor to Gerard Batten, then the leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP).

Robinson is also known for creating self-produced videos presented in a documentary format, on topics including the grooming gangs scandal. Some of these videos have been found in court to include defamatory false statements about their subjects.[2][3][4]

Robinson has criminal convictions[5] for assault,[6] threats,[7] harassment,[8] and fraud,[5] as well as contempt of court rulings relating to his videos, and served five prison terms between 2005 and 2025. In June 2022, Robinson said that he lost £100,000 in gambling before declaring bankruptcy in March 2021. He also said he owed an estimated £160,000 to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). In August 2024, The Times said that he owed in the region of £2 million to his creditors, and was the subject of a HMRC investigation over unpaid taxes.

I started reading an article somewhere about how he's getting funded and raking it in. He's a conman. I'm sure he's getting funded by Russia also given his recent visits there.

[–] FluidBeef@quokk.au 1 points 6 days ago

The beauty of him hiding his real name is that all of his great mates who come to his rallies will be looking for Irish immigrants once they’re done with the brown ones.

[–] Unquote0270@programming.dev 55 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I envy people who have never heard of that turd.

[–] P1nkman@lemmy.world 24 points 1 week ago

And now I've heard of him. God damnit.

This is honestly a career low for tommy as well.

I feel old. I was around long enough to see Ed go from being a busker to a world famous pop star, and then back to being a busker.

[–] FluidBeef@quokk.au 1 points 6 days ago

He tried to go back to being a busker but all the commuters pulled out of his Tube carriage.

[–] Rat_in_a_hat@lemmy.ca 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

One can only hope that he'd go back to busking. But he's got 400mil in his account and close friends with the Epstein class. He's set for life but still a spineless shit weasel

Hitler and Jack the Ripper have also came out in support for Ed Sheeran.

[–] mrmisses@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

I supported Ed before Hitler ~trump

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.cafe 28 points 1 week ago

I'm sure he will have a nice, open dialog with Tommy. Doesn't want to alienate anyone. Good people on both sides.

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 28 points 1 week ago

The story that keeps on giving.

[–] VibeSurgeon@piefed.social 25 points 1 week ago

What a fucking loser

[–] HerbGrower@slrpnk.net 23 points 1 week ago

Still insist you are not being political?

[–] nialv7@lemmy.world 20 points 1 week ago (6 children)

Is he trying to use this opportunity to radicalize Ed? i.e. by trying to be his friend when everyone else is against him?

[–] Rothe@piefed.social 15 points 1 week ago

No, it is just a fascist scoring cheap points in the powerplay they like so much. It is like when Putin criticises US human rights violations (or vice versa, although that doesn't happen much these days). Imagine the trollface emoji when reading their statements about these kinds of things, because that is the kind of intent they are being stated with.

Tel Aviv Tommy to the rescue

[–] elucubra@sopuli.xyz 12 points 1 week ago

I'm going to stop listening to this Sheeran guy. I'm not going to start either.

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

Good to hear that Ed can rely on the support of his best friend in these trying times.
