This sort of shit is why they're one of the few companies I still consider buying games at full price from. Bought Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 on release at full price, no regrets (even with the glitches).

To be honest, after the cyberpunk launch, I lost a little faith in cdpr. But seeing what they're doing now, and having heard how good of a game cyberpunk has become. I might just buy cyberpunk next time it goes on sale

I played through on release, no regrets. It is definitely a much more polished experience how though, would recommend! Runs great too.

I played it at release too, and the only two bugs I can remember was a guy popping in and t-posing across the room straight out a wall in the Tom's Diner scene with Takamura and then one of the locations that had a side mission never opened up properly my first run through which prevented me getting an achievment for 100%ing all the missions the first time through.

Oh well, the speed boost glitch too. But that was a useful and fun one so it doesn't count (and I am mad they fixed it).

I actually encounter more bugs of all kinds now, after all the updates and changes. Like cars falling from the sky randomly, NPCs models bugging out, scripts not firing properly, and a lot of annoyances trying to drive vehicles.

I had a crazy glitch with Saburo's robe floating waaaay above his shoulders: It looked very ridiculous during a pretty intense scene and the juxtaposition was fun.

The best one during jackie death in the car. The chip and the card swapped places in his hands, resulting gun getting inserted into your head

I got it on steam Summer sale for $33 for the full game. No regrets.

It really is a very good game

Witcher 2 and 3 launched as messes too, not as bad as Cyberpunk 2077 (that's probably the worst triple A launch ever).

I had little hope in it and have little hope in their next game, especially considering its UE5...

It's good, just don't expect what they were promising before launch. I enjoyed the base game and the Phantom Liberty DLC even more.

Cyberpunk is infinitely better than it released and such a good game. I bought it on launch and ended up just waiting for the dlc to drop before my first playthrough, they had such a good game underneath so I get all the hype but the bean counters just under estimated the necessary timeline for it to be ready. 😤

I brought it day 1 on PS4 (it didn't even release on the PS5 for a while after) and played it for like 2 days straight and barely looked online. I came to my own conclusion that it was awful and felt good knowing I wasnt alone once I did look. Sony then refunded everyone and I took it. Then sometime later that year or maybe the year after when it was at its lowest it was also selling for basically nothing and swooped it up for $5 bucks on PC. I didnt touch it for years and think I played it finally once it dropped the last big update which may have been 2024? It was a great game at this point and fully worth a regular price.

As for the Witcher 3 it was always a great game and as far as I saw they did everything right for that game. Its probably a top 3 all time game for me since idk if I ever felt so emmerssed into a game like this one did. Attention to story was and is still peak gaming.

You should. I bought the whole thing on sale for $33, but I would have gladly paid full price, glitches and all. I just vibed with the entire story, DLC included. 160 hours of game play, most of it just exploring or driving around. Partly because I didn't want the story and the game to end. I knew it was going to be bittersweet, although I didn't exactly know how, for both the DLC and the main story. I know there are multiple endings, but I think I got the best you could get for the DLC and the main game, and for me those are the only endings that exist. ❤️

This. I even bought them twice: on GOG (for them) and Steam (for me).

I never ever buy games at full price. I always wait a year or more until they hit %75 OFF or more.

These guys fucking deserve every coin I have.

I regret pirating Cyberpunk. I have such a blast with it that would definitely buy it, but I'm already so far ahead in the story and side missions that don't want to do it all over again.

[–] _haha_oh_wow_@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 days ago

Just buy the copy and keep playing the pirated version, though you could likely just copy the save files into your legit copy, then sync with Steam or GOG or whatever for cloud save.

[–] tekdeb@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 week ago

Why not both? If you think the devs deserve the money then you could buy it and keep playing the pirated copy.

[–] Buffalox@lemmy.world 30 points 1 week ago (1 children)

base game owners will now be able to play the Blood and Wine, Heart of Stone expansions for free.

Wow that's seriously cool. 😎

[–] Monomate@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 week ago

And those who have been holding off buying it during the last mega-sales, like me, might see a base-price increase. 😑

I have no rush to buy it because I plan to at least experience the first two games before going for the third, which is a very long time commitment, and the DLC add even more play time.

Yayyyyy!

This title update is available on both consoles and PC, but only for the current-gen versions (PS5, Xbox Series X|S). We checked the PS4 version, and it seems it hasn’t gotten the patch, and we doubt it ever will.

Nooooo!

Casual gamer...only have PS4 🥺
