What the fuck do you expect from reddit? By the way... this is Lemmy - can we quit talking about reddit?

[–] athatet@lemmy.zip 0 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

This comment has the same energy as what is being complained about by the OP.

[–] echo@lemmy.today 0 points 2 weeks ago

feel better? you did your job today of contributing absolutely nothing. - sleep tight. side note: go back to Reddit... they miss you.

On the one hand we have locking a discussion about sexual assault.

On the other hand we have a post suggesting we stop talking about what happens on a social media platform.

Those seem pretty different to me. But maybe you see things differently. I wonder how your own post would fit into it. Same energy too? Or somehow different?

Because the issue is beyond both Reddit and Lemmy, and it is that issue that needs discussion

[–] echo@lemmy.today 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I don't think it would be that hard for Lemmy to ban posts to and about reddit.

[–] stylusmobilus@aussie.zone 0 points 2 weeks ago

That I don’t know, and will leave to someone who does to answer

Beyond knowing it’s a Reddit post and ban, I see the issue of silencing a post that simply was about a decision made by the Australian government and I want to talk about that, for sure.

That concerns me, because if it’s comments, as you say they shouldn’t be hard to remove individually.

Remember the days when people would be called a conspiracy theorist for saying Israel controls Western democracies?

Now it's just accepted.

I bet they will find no wrong doing with this "investigation"

Because there is too much dirt on world leaders in the Epstein files and they are scared into submission

[–] Wataba@sh.itjust.works 0 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

At this point, given Epstein's connection to Mossad, i entirely believe this was planned from the start.

They created a honeypot of the most fucked up and depraved atrocities, lured people with too much power in, and now hold them all on a leash.

[–] SarahFromOz@lemmy.world 0 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Yes. This is what the internet thinks. I wonder if it will ever be proven?

[–] teslekova@sh.itjust.works 0 points 2 weeks ago

Proven in what court?

[–] arbilp3@aussie.zone 0 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

You may well be right. At least a decade before Epstein's name became household I remember reading that it was common practice for Israeli intelligence operatives to do exactly what you say.

[–] eureka@aussie.zone 0 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

While espionage and conspiracy are real aspects of politics, Mossad being a known perpetrator, we must also be careful to not trivialise the material political interest that Western countries have in supporting the Zionist Regime. We're not making weapons and weapon components for them just because some people are being extorted. This is imperialism for resources.

As for the Epstein part, this is important and somewhat relevant: Origins of the Epstein Class

[–] finallymadeanaccount@lemmy.world 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

They'll find no wrongdoing, and somehow work in that the victims were antisemetic, then call for more penalties against antisemitism.

I'm not joking.

[–] stylusmobilus@aussie.zone 0 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

So this is an independent inquiry, so hopefully it does turn out to have some bite.

My issue is accountability or retribution once guilt is established.

[–] teslekova@sh.itjust.works 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Spez is on an advisory board for AIPAC, so this is less of a surprise to me now than when I got banned for similar contributions.

Wait ... I feel more should be made of this. It should be shouted from the rooftops!

[–] arbilp3@aussie.zone 0 points 2 weeks ago

Well ribbit can eff off. Imo it's more important that we keep in mind what the article says:

Understand what is truly at stake. For decades Israel has acted in the settled expectation that it answers to no one, underwritten by the certainty that its Western friends would always look away.

That assumption is what is now on trial in Canberra. The moment a trusted ally follows the evidence wherever it leads, the spell breaks, and other capitals discover they can ask the question too. This is why the world is watching a story that began with a few small boats.

The era of impunity rested on a single belief. That no friend would ever break ranks. A friend just did.

Ad WE must not let up making sure our govt knows we are not forgetting that the assaults on the flotilla Australians are being investigated. We are and will demand answers.

Fuck Reddit and Fuck Spez.
