Fuck AI

"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

I uninstalled co-pilot from my win 10 the other day and it seemed to work fine with no errors and the icon was gone from the start menu. It was back the next day.

Recently Copilot came back on my Win10 machine too. 20 mins to an hour after uninstalling it, it would reinstall itself. Registry edits and even group policies did nothing to stop it. With help from folks on here I was able to get it to fuck off completely with Shutup10++ and it hasn't come back yet.

you really gotta debloat your win10 if you choose to continue using it. the stock options are hot garbage. just try opening wireshark for once..

Wow, it's worse than I thought. 81 different products.

Circular map showing 78 different Copilot products split into categories of Chatbots, Desktop Apps, Enterprise Platforms, Developer tools, Apps in Other Apps, Business Software and Hardware

I just found out I can't get rid of my "Gaming Copilot" which can listen in on a microphone any time I accidentally long press the button or bring up a chat window if I long press a different button. No un-installation or changing it.

Fricking windows.

Another option might be the LTSC version of Windows which doesn't have as much of this nonsense.

Or game on Linux instead if you game of choice isn't riddled with anti-cheat "software".

Worse, psychonauts just literally doesnt play well on Linux the controls are mapped all wrong.

That's unfortunate. There's some discussion on ProtonDB that may be useful for workarounds etc, but you're probably already aware of that.

The article should give us a text-only list. It's almost useless on mobile.
