All you had to do was follow the damn train

[–] onlinepersona@programming.dev 26 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Someone shoots a CEO, another sets a warehouse on fire due to low wages, this dude sets fire to a gate of a billionaire... What will the next thing be?

I don't know what's next, but I wish it was something that the French used to do in a square

[–] modus@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago

Farmers' Markets?

If the rich keep taking and not giving, it's bound to happen.

[...] allegedly throwing an improvised incendiary device that ignited part of an exterior gate before fleeing the scene on foot.

The suspect was ultimately located about an hour later near OpenAI’s headquarters, roughly 4.8 kilometres (three miles) away, where he was allegedly threatening to set the building on fire.

ngl disappointing performance. If you're going to do an adventurism by yourself, which I generally don't advocate for tactical reasons, then at least make it worth the prison time.

"...fleeing the scene on foot... ', who is this, a car-hating terrorist?

They create the problem to solve the problem.... Inside job? Oh the poor CEO with multiple homes... poor little guy he is such a vulnerable innocent victum... Like the same people who walk out side of their homes and paint swastikas on their own home. The problem solution cycle. Karens are not just zionist. They come in all flavors. I am speculating though and we have no proof yet... but that Altman has put himself in some crosshairs and I speculate how much of a genius he really is. AI is useless... yes you can make a turd sandwich with it but you still can't convince me to eat it yet... we still need brain chips and breeding facilities.

Oh no. I hope he's not getting homeless due to AI.

[–] Korhaka@sopuli.xyz 32 points 20 hours ago

Ohh nice, I suggested this a few months ago to target billionaires. Molotovs are very easy to make.

He can ask ChatGPT to help put the fire out

This is itself already the result of a chatGPT prompt: How can I make the world a better place?

[–] amaryllisfever@lemmychan.org 21 points 22 hours ago

Good. We need to see more people who are angry at the system taking actions like these.

[–] ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 7 points 20 hours ago

Better luck next time

Do you think actions like this ultimately scare people away from the left causing people to think leftists are unreasonably unlawful and violent?

[–] communism@lemmy.ml 1 points 27 minutes ago

Who said this person was on the "left"? In any case, who cares. I don't care about winning people over to the "left". I'm a communist, and history has shown that proletarian revolutions aren't primarily composed of politically active "leftists", socialists, etc. Revolutions are made by working class people acting out of self-interest, whether or not they've attained a socialist/communist consciousness (and often times, they haven't).

we dont want you dont worry

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 5 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago)

Maybe. But, it will happen nonetheless if the filthy rich don't stop their march.

Also, the people who feign sympathy for the filthy rich are suffering under the delusion that they are as rich, or will be someday. People with $50 million don't know which side of the wall they're on.

Laws in capitalist countries are written to protect private property and capital. With ICE raids killing hundreds of innocent people, violating the law does not look like a big deal.

If you are a dull as a butter knife.... We are using AI to commit genocide. Those people are not the left. I am not trying to be insaulting but even some magga are like what the f merica. This is unpopular all around the globe by many people. Those that advocate for it think they are gonna get rich and thats all they care about. Those that want to save the children are a lot of the times those that harm the children. It is just so inefficient... first we got war pigs, now we got grid hogs dinning and dashing footing us with the bill. The corpos are running games to scare grandmal and the normalcy normans. 40 years on this wretched earth and all I see is games... I like these communist though. I have my own interpitation that melts with with a lot of what they got to say. They are kinda dogmatic but I would rather them then what we got... it does seem like a pipe dream though. I see a blue magga and a red magga civil war and/or nukes before I see a revolution that leads to a socialist state. Just cause it can work doesn't mean it will and if you look at our behavior at this moment you see there really hasn't been any improvements. Gizmo human trackers for all, cocaine for some and caviar for sum. Like it is socialism for the rich, unions for the dogs and scraps for the rest. Everyday the unhoused population grows.... everyday the anger grows... The corpos like staying one step ahead... endless budgets, Plausible deniability and a big stick to wack you over the head. CIA = Corparate America... there is no seperation at all... the feds watch us on here to

Nah I think we're past the point where ahitloads of regular people understand that violence isn't always unreasonable, as the positive reactions to these stories show

[–] admin@lemmy.my-box.dev -3 points 13 hours ago

Yeah, it's not going to do wonders for polarisation. But on the whole, you do hope that people realise it's a spectrum. Ie, not everyone on the left is a violent terrorist, not everyone on the right is a genocidal racist, and that echo chambers are very much a thing.
