A new bill could block property purchases, including for homebuyers, if the potential buyer is suspected of “anti-constitutional activities” — even without any criminal conviction.

The new dystopian bill, pushed by Construction Minister Verena Hubertz of the far- ~~left~~ right Social Democrats (SPD), could mean those who hold the wrong political views are blocked from real estate purchases.

i REALLY hate the framing of this article.

first of all: the SPD is not even remotely far left, they´re not even 'left' to begin with.

second: they pulled the far right newspaper nius as a source which is probably worse than the Springer-owned Bild (who funnily got bombed by RAF comrades)

BUT

it´s true lol The PROPOSED law actually states that people who are considered "unconstitutional" can be barred from buying a home. According to the law it references that "being unconstitutional" apparently does not apply to people who publicly say stuff like "Death to Israel" or "Down with the German Imperialist System" or generally just "I hate brown people" but it applies to people who apparently took "actual measures" as in planning or announcing terror attacks or working for foreign agencies. - Although we all know that lawmakers can just stretch the definition of it if they dislike you.

shit rightoid article - shitty rightoid source - factual reporting.

I tried finding a less hypernazi source but the headline of the only other English article I found was that this would only ban "right-wing buyers."

Terror attacks, or liberation movements such as calling out genocide and organizing to disrupt funding etc?

The far right likes to call that "terrorism" too.

Yeah the idea is that they'll claim it's not because of your speech or pro human values, but because you're secretly affiliated with Russia or terrorists or some other nonsense

That's the sell but they'll use it 100% against opponents of Israel. Look at how they sanctioned German journalist Husein Dogru for covering Gaza

Germany is the absolute worst in its handling of the genocide. Actively punishing those calling it out.
