I'm ok with the fascism, reduction of our rights, human trafficking, pedophilia, rape, forced deportations, economic wars against our allies, bombing of civilians, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and bigotry against anyone that is not a cis het white man, but I draw a line at an American President cursing on Easter Sunday.

[–] nickiwest@lemmy.world 33 points 4 months ago (3 children)

I really wish Republicans would draw a line literally anywhere. But they keep explaining away every unhinged thing their leader says.

If a Democratic president said any of these things, Fox News would initiate pearl-clutching immediately, and Republican lawmakers would start impeachment proceedings the next day.

[–] IratePirate@feddit.org 2 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Depending on the Republican in question, but I'd argue they draw plenty lines regularly, though most of them are a powdery white...

I'm ok with alll of that, I just can't stand having to pay a total of $5 more to fill up a tank of gas. It's finally personally affecting me, so it's a problem!!!

[–] CubitOom@infosec.pub 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Would you care for a chocolate-like egg shaped product in these trying times?

[–] IratePirate@feddit.org 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

A chocolate Easter Allah is precisely what we needed to defuse the situation!

with every tweet he embarrasses the country more and more. I personally hope Tuesday will be artery clogging day.

[–] evenglow@lemmy.world 31 points 4 months ago (3 children)

Forgot embarrassment. Start thinking about the world no longer trusting USA for the rest of your life.

[–] Hegar@fedia.io 18 points 4 months ago (1 children)

The world has never trusted the US. Because of all that stuff we do to it.

Europe trusted the US, from around the mid 40s until the bush regime. That's the so called "american century", from the US entering ww2 until "WMDs in iraq" - about 60 years.

[–] Soulg@ani.social 15 points 4 months ago (3 children)

Yeah fine you can say that but it's far far worse now

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 3 points 4 months ago (2 children)

It's... really not. Outside of key historically American-friendly regions, Trump is just seen as another imperialist ghoul running America in a long line of imperialist ghouls running America.

[–] vzqq@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Yes, but also no.

Everyone can see the inflection point. Some might be tempted to roll the dice, we got a shit situation now, let’s see what happens. But everyone can see things are not like they used to be.

[–] wewbull@feddit.uk 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Trump is an accelerator, but he is also a symptom of a diseased country. The US has been religious fanatics since the Mayflower, nationalistic from 1776, imperialistic since WW1, and politically corrupt since Reagan (at the latest).

Those are some heavyweight cancers ravaging the country.

[–] vzqq@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 4 months ago

Oh yeah, absolutely. The county electing an obviously unfit person to the highest office is not something that happens on its own: it’s an indication of the rot running deep. The unfit person can then accelerate the destruction of the country in ways few were even able to anticipate.

The U.S. has entered exponential decline, where everything that happens makes the next step more likely and more impactful.

[–] tabarnaski@sh.itjust.works 6 points 4 months ago

It is. There's a reason why European countries (and Canada) are trying to reduce their economic ties with the US. No country ever thought the US to be a force for good, everybody understood that capitalism was the single most important driving force behind the US international policy. But there was a semblance of decency and a principle of reciprocity among allies that the US helped maintain (obviously to its advantage most of the time, but nonetheless).

Now Trump is telling the rest of the world to fuck off, kidnaps a foreign leader, threatens to invade friendly countries and follows Israel in a genocide. What's happening right now is completely different from the US foreign policy for the last 40 years.

Inshallah the next Big Mac is his last

[–] takeda@lemmy.dbzer0.com 62 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (4 children)

Is this real? I don't have an account there to verify.

Edit: looks like it is https://www.axios.com/2026/04/05/trump-iran-strait-hormuz-bombing-threat

[–] coalie@piefed.zip 25 points 4 months ago

Praise be to allah

[–] Ek-Hou-Van-Braai@piefed.social 16 points 4 months ago

It's real, we live in the dumbest timeline

[–] pomegranatefern@sh.itjust.works 11 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

FYI, Xcancel can be used to view most xcrements without an account or having to go to X. https://xcancel.com/

EDIT: Oh, this one was on his "Truth" Social. Well, the advice applies to X, at least.

[–] vodka@feddit.org 6 points 4 months ago

FYI you don't need an account for Truth Social to verify Trumps posts. They are publicly available without logging in.

Might need it for others though, dunno about that.

[–] Fluffy_Ruffs@lemmy.world 50 points 4 months ago (3 children)

I wonder how his Christian fanbase feels about him praising Allah and on Easter of all days.

[–] pleaseletmein@lemmy.zip 9 points 4 months ago

I’m sure the same people who were infuriated with Biden the year Trans Day of Visibility just happened to coincide with Easter are just as angry now!

[–] AdolfSchmitler@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

He does it as a fuck you to see how much abuse he can give to his base without losing their support

[–] Waldelfe@feddit.org 3 points 4 months ago

I'm sure they will find a way to explain it as a genius 5D chess move to "troll the libs".

[–] AbsolutelyNotAVelociraptor@piefed.social 40 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Can't wait to see the Iranian embassies tweets trolling him like yesterday.

The guy really sounds pissed off and I'm not sure I get why. The war was won, he's leaving the country in 2 weeks and he doesn't care if the strait is open or not by the time so... what's wrong, Trump? U mad bro?

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 8 points 4 months ago (1 children)

The guy really sounds pissed off and I'm not sure I get why.

He’s demented. Confused, angry, and pissed off all the time.

[–] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 3 points 4 months ago

Turns out the real TDS was inside him all along

Y'know, the Strait WAS open, until Trump came to town.

[–] technomage@lemmy.ca 32 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Okay... Who let Grandpa out of the dementia ward???

But for real... Seeing the president tweet (or truth, whatever, idgaf) shit like this is still fuckin wild to this day...

[–] IratePirate@feddit.org 3 points 4 months ago (3 children)

tweet (or truth, whatever, idgaf)

You know shit is fucked when people call the act of putting out as many lies as possible "truthing", and the grammar isn't even the most moronic thing about it...

Sent to the hospital, praise to be Allah indeed!

[–] robomuffin79@lemmy.world 24 points 4 months ago (1 children)

And he said that on Easter Sunday. The Evangelist nutjobs must be losing their minds

[–] Blue_Morpho@lemmy.world 37 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

Evangelicals only worry about the morality of Democrats. Republicans are allowed to be foul mouthed pedophiles because they are working for God.

[–] _chris@lemmy.world 21 points 4 months ago

“Look, he may be the antichrist, but he’s OUR antichrist. And he lets us rape children!”

[–] kingofras@lemmy.world 29 points 4 months ago

Sounds to me like someone’s doctor didn’t give him enough sedative before the anal probe at walter reed.

[–] pineapplelover@lemmy.dbzer0.com 21 points 4 months ago

Praise be to Allah indeed

[–] RelativeArea1@sh.itjust.works 21 points 4 months ago

apparently, this is real. lmao

[–] mrmaplebar@fedia.io 20 points 4 months ago (1 children)

This dude is like half melted down already.

Half? I see you're optimistic today...

[–] agamemnonymous@sh.itjust.works 19 points 4 months ago (1 children)

open the strait.

stop having it be closed.

[–] grahamja@reddthat.com 9 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

That sucks.

This sucks!

[–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 13 points 4 months ago

He converted to Islam on Easter? Guess he probably had another stroke then

[–] DoubleDongle@lemmy.world 12 points 4 months ago

Well, he's alive, but whatever the fuck happened clearly necessitated a shot of the good stuff in his IV, so I'll stay positive about the future.

[–] SanPe_@lemmy.world 9 points 4 months ago

He's gonna nuke Iran and send us all around the world to hell.

[–] WanderingThoughts@europe.pub 5 points 4 months ago

And Wednesday then would be desalination day, and cities in the region then would have to be evacuated.
