I forget to breathe all the time. Especially when exercising and when sleeping. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Same. Usually I get away with it, but when I'm at altitude I'll suddenly realize I haven't breathed enough and have to take a deep breath that sounds like a sigh.

For the sleeping bit, if you haven't yet, get a sleep study done. See if you have sleep apnea. CPAP can be life changing.

I have. And I do. And unfortunately for me, it’s not. But at least I’m not suffocating in my sleep. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

I think you just get used to the new baseline. If I sleep without it, I just wake up every few minutes deprived of oxygen

I genuinely do forget to breath sometimes

It's gotten worse as I've gotten older

Bro, I already do

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 7 points 4 months ago

....no?? Does ADHD make you not feel suffocation?

[–] Mangoholic@lemmy.ml 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Where you ever so high you forgot to breath consistantly and it took active reminding to take breaths?

Not until now you bastard

Well I guess everybody would be dead at night anyway, right?

And there is me with ADHD and complex sleep apnea. So I literally forget to breathe at night.

Thanks for the reminder to take a few deep breaths.

More like permanently gasping for breath as the body gently reminds you it needs oxygen
