Canada post should be radically expanded, with the express goal of aiding interprovincial trade.
Will it require subsidies? Sure. But facilitating commerce will have a huge trickle-down effect as it would enable smaller businesses to compete at a national scale.
Uhhh Purolator is owned by Canada Post(91%)
2.2 Billion in revenue in 2020 and has grown since then.
Canada Post has cannibalized the mail service by shifting its profits to Purolator.
Canada Post has all the revenue it needs to operate
This whole situation is entirely self created.
One more issue of privatizing profit, and socializing losses.
Fuck capitalism.
Public institutions and services, from the mail to your doctor should be funded fully to provide the best services, and the cost needs to be paid for by taxing profiteers
Canada post is suppose to be a public service. It's not suppose to be "profitable". That's real yankee think.
