schumer specifically, hes the one orchestrated it behind the scenes, he only was against it publically, because looks bad in optics. he holds all the cards in funding senate campagins, he has as power as mitch did with the gop. hes more or less the DINO(GOP-LITE) version of mitch.
He is highly despised right now, by EVERYBODY. He sat by and allowed MAGA to happen. While McConnell could get anything done, even without a majority, Schmuckie can't do anything, even when he had majorities.
He's been incredibly weak, cowardly, and corrupt, when we most needed a warrior. AOC could easily humiliate him in the primary, the way she did Markey to get her seat.
And Schmuck shouldn't be alone. A LOT of Dems should get primaried next year. They'll either lose to a more motivated candidate, or they'll get a clue, and start doing their jobs.

PROBABLY the major donors. and then theres thiel who has been in with epstein since 1990s, yea he recently dumped his stocks as a way to shield his assets.
I haven't been too keen on Democrats since maybe always, but they've usually been the better option and their liberal populism can be influenced quite easily so it's usually the better choice.
But between Israel and this last fiasco with literally abandoning the ONE good thing their party pushed through, the ACA marketplace subsidies (which was still pretty anemic considering) I will never forget what they did. I have been directly harmed by these rat bastards.
I don't have any illusions that we're going to build a third party, our country doesn't currently work that way. But I sure as shit am going to help advocate for flushing every old-guard, establishment Democrat out of office as soon as humanly possible. Useless, steaming pile of old-money fucks suckling at the Republican's teets.
So glad we gave him everything he wanted so now we have no leverage at all. Another masterful play by Chuck Schumer.

Why do people keep assuming Chuck Schumer is some master tactician when literally all we've ever seen from him is failure after failure?
THIS was another failure, so it's in form for him.
Because bumbling into failures is the tactic he chooses to achieve the goals of his donors, not his constituents but the people who have given him the money to get into his position of power in the first place specifically so that he can pretend to be on board with improving the country only to torpedo anything that looks like it might improve people's lives if that improvement means his donors missing out on even $1
he does hold the key to thier delegates and funding, hes pretty much like how mitch uses his position to force the gop to his will.
Except Mitch McConnel won. His political project was incredibly successful. Schumer has just failed over and over, losing battles and rights and leading the party to their lowest favorability in decades.

Americans clearly need to touch the stove and get burned before they understand what they've unleashed. It's regrettable but saving them from the consequences of their political decisions might be worse in the long term. We're at this horrendous point where things will have to get worse before they have a chance of getting better.
I’m actually of the opinion that Americans are stupidly selfish because they’ve never had to go through the unifying thread of war and mass destruction on their country. They’ve never endured a community/county level hardship. The Pandemic was close but even then it wasn’t the visceral, visible destruction.

I know many/most of you are aware of how bad this is, but I'm still gonna bitch here.
I lost my job as a result of the Trump administration's policies. While I had other options for health insurance (ex: COBRA), getting an ACA plan made the most sense to me at the time. It was shittier in comparison to what I had at my job (and what I would have retained access to via COBRA), but mostly comparable in the easy to measure ways (i.e. out of pocket costs and coverage of necessary meds) and cost much less than COBRA even without considering those tax credits / subsidies.
Honestly, it was so much work just to figure out which plan made the most sense, I had no idea I needed to check to see if there was a ticking time bomb ready to go off. The new 2026 rates are so much higher with poorer coverage and higher out of pocket expense -- worse in pretty much every way you could think. While I may still opt for one of the low tier plans that's basically catastrophic only + the minimum required coverage, at that price point and for what it provides, I'm sure a lot of people will go without even if they technically could afford the premiums. I know I'm still weighing my options, but it does feel like they took my job then took my access to health care, what next?
COBRA is not a reasonable option for anyone who has just lost their job. It's fucking insulting.
No shit got that offer after being laid off. Fucking 700 a month, was only getting 1000 in unemployment a month. How the fuck could pay 700 for Cobra.
Bro emmigration is the only escape from that hellhole. It's simply not worth it for the middle class, they're getting sucked high and dry, and the Dems only response will be corporate subsidiaries vs billionaires, and "we're not trump" while nothing meaningful actually gets done and costs rise across the board, and quality of life goes to shit for the average folks. The headlines say it all, either continual infighting leading to nothing, the fall of democracy, or an actual civil war that will be bloody.
Get the fuck out while you still can. A few years into living in another country, you will despise your new home. Then you might visit your family in the USA, and realize holy hell, things actually got worse and your new home is exponentially better, even with all its failings.
Which countries are we able to gain Citizenship? I know some people gained Canadian citizenship through their job. We can't all move to Canada.
I'm waiting for the next 90 day fiance where some white dude from Florida is trying to marry a south American girl for a green card.
