So a lot of the potential risk depends on the details. What language do they speak, what country are they traveling from, what particular political affiliations and activities they are part of, etc.

I'm not an expert, but feel free to DM me if you don't want to share more info widely (although remember that direct messaging on lemmy is not secure or private).

They are primarily looking to catch troublemakers and drug traffickers. However, what may be considered a troublemaker is broad and unfair.

The connection to public organizations is really a political thing.

Unless the soccer club is known for radical political activity or violence, then they should be fine.

If coworker is politically active, member of communist / leftist party, or extremely outspoken online then they should take additional precautions.

They should also avoid any recreational drugs other than alcohol before coming, and review any medication carefully, as laws in Florida are strict.

As others have said, racial profiling is always possible, but extremely unlikely.

The under configuration is incorrect, but may be necessary in the presence of high winds, cats, or toddlers.

This is the only correct answer. If you make the PB a little thicker around the edges, it will create a sealed PB pocket to contain the jelly for transport.

Which crocodile had no teeth?

"Yes."

Hey, I resent that comment!

Wait, not resent. Resemble.

Good. Racist little troll.

It's the same story, but the right reads Atlas Shrugged as a cautionary tale, where the left reads it as aspirational.

It's actually pretty hard for a municipal government to block an entire industry. The legal process of doing so requires a temporary moratorium and study.

In the early stages, this is literally what a local ban looks like.

If this small town succeeds, they establish the model for other cities in Texas. They have already halted a $14 billion international project.

This just became the first city in Texas to block a major data center. It would have brought billions of dollars into the small city, but used 4.6 million gallons or water and sewer daily.

The city's leaders recognized the long term dangers and blocked it.

Clearly AI - in reality, it would require 100s of pounds of force to remove a finger like this.

Jennifer Combs was arrested after making claims in a Facebook post that residents had been hospitalized after consuming the water in Trinidad.

Trinidad officials confirmed that the city has been having water issues, but wouldn't say if anyone had been hospitalized.

Combs has since filed a lawsuit against the city and several officials, claiming the arrest was an act of "political retaliation."

Not at all. At least three or four people have said that PLEX has better features, but no one so far has said what features make it worth using or what makes it better. I found that Jellyfin was one of the easiest things to set up once I started my home server. I don't have any background in tech or IT, I'm just a hobyist.

I went with Jellyfin when I was setting it up because it seemed easier and had a more active support community, but from looking at the two, they seemed basically interchangeable. I've never had a reason to look for something else, since Jellyfin works better than most of the corporate apps on my TV. It loads faster, has less lag, and is easier to navigate than Netflix, Disney, Prime, etc. My zero-tech family find it easy enough to use daily.

When I found out Plex charged, I thought that they were actually managing your remote storage or something. What is the market for people who want to pay to access their own files on their own hardware? I genuinely don't get it. If you want to share it, out of your home network there is always Tailscale or the like.

Sorry if this is maybe an obvious answer. I'm just scratching my head. I just noticed it after the latest update.

“The Iranian conduct, namely, deploying Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps personnel in Lebanon under the guise of diplomatic activity, violates the principle of good faith,” the Lebanese UN representative wrote.

Article 10, as noted by the letter, requires states to inform the host country of “the appointment of members of the mission, their arrival, and their final departure or the termination of their functions with the mission.”

Finally, Beirut complained that the IRGC’s March 11 announcement of joint operations with Hezbollah was “highly concerning.” In “Operation Eaten Straw,” Hezbollah planned to launch around 600 rockets and missiles in coordination with Iran at Israeli territory, according to the Institute for National Security Studies.

The extensive coordination between Iran-backed Hezbollah and remnants of Assad’s security apparatus, which was also supported by the Iranian regime until its fall, has fueled fears of an emerging dynamic that could undermine Syria’s new government and deepen regional instability.

Not that CNN is a good source, the reason I posted the CNN link is because it is indicative that CNN is concluding this publicly and emphatically. It shows the calculus of US mainstream media is changing towards Ukraine, which is not something it has really done for quite awhile.

Mike Banks, President Donald Trump’s top Border Patrol official, resigned from the position on Thursday, “effective immediately.”

Banks’ departure from the Border Patrol comes under the cloud of sex tourism allegations against him.

Several current and former border patrol agents told the Washington Examiner last month that Banks “bragged” about having sex with prostitutes in countries that included Colombia and Thailand.

At least 100 civilians were killed in a Nigerian military airstrike on a crowded market in northwest Zamfara state, Amnesty International said on Tuesday, urging authorities to ‌open an immediate investigation.

The airstrike, which hit the remote Tumfa market in Zurmi district on Sunday, was the second to kill scores of people at a crowded market in northern Nigeria in a month.

In April, around 200 civilians were killed in a similar airstrike on ‌a weekly market in Jilli, in northeastern Nigeria. The military has opened a probe into that incident.
