I haven’t seen another Lemmy client that lets you write code in your post with real-time syntax highlighting. It’s not just code. Write your posts in rich text without toggling between Markdown and preview.

There are a lot of Lemmy clients, so I’m sure someone else does this. But I wanted to share in case anyone else finds this helpful.

I'm testing a feature in my current dev branch and would like some feedback. The technical side of it is complete, but I'm curious about the human side of it.

When loading a removed comment in the comment section, it automatically fetches the removal reason from the modlog and appends it below 'Removed by Mod" on the comment. The "Removed by Mod" text is also linked to the modlog entry for the item.

Additionally, if you're a mod, it will also append, in a spoiler block, the original comment that was removed. Somewhere between 0.19.3 and 0.19.9, the Lemmy devs decided mods should no longer be able to see removed comments in their own communities, which I think is a huge regression (though thankfully admins can still see them).

Thoughts? Is this asking for drama, or would it be generally beneficial? Right now, in the dev branch, it just does it, but I can make it a user option.

It is long past time for us to build a movement where we shower recognition, rewards, and donations on the devs that were selfless and wise enough to share their source code with the community.

Hello Lemmy. I just released a new Lemmy client for iOS. I'm still working on a few key features (background notifications, word block filters, i18n, community creation and moderation, plus a few other random things). I hope to have them complete soon. I am the indie developer behind SoraSNS (a Fediverse and Bluesky client featured by Tech Crunch twice).

I just started working on a modern and futuristic styled Lemmy client. It will have a modern UI and equal features as the alien blue app.

Some features I am planning include:

• all features like alien blue app (you know which app I am referring to)
• a better notification interface so you can see the thread the message belongs to
• auto translation feature
• bookmark folders
• folders to organized your subscribed communities
• a discovery feed for most popular posts from your subscribed communities and followed persons
• watch a post and receive notifications about new comments
• scroll horizontally to switch to previous or next post in the list
• Home Screen widget to automatically show top news, refreshed automatically several times a day
• Filters for posts and comments based on activity, follow status

The image I attached is obviously the build 0. The target release date is around the first week of May.

The sync developer has been MIA for a long time (1 year or longer) and I fear it will stop working sooner or later when Lemmy instances start updating to v1.0 in future.

I use Sync because it has a nice Material you theme, is smooth, supports caching posts & media offline (also keeps the comments, posts loaded even if android reclaims memory from the app)

I can open posts, comments, and even communities in a seperate window if I choose to do so.

Anything with multi window support out there yet? I used voyager for posting. But, want sync like multi window capabilities.

In other news, I hope you like the latest app update! ICYMI: the video player was significantly revamped, you can now upload videos (assuming lemmy instance support: keep reading...), and Android users can now long press links to preview the url, as well as for share/copy/open options.

I thrived on daily reading of a few multireddits, which are specific clusters of the same subreddits, as my default view; I only went to the general feed for all of my subscribed communities every once in a while.

Announcing the Blorp Mac App Preview – Available to Test Now!

Blorp is at a stage where there's still plenty of work to do, but I’m ready to start gathering feedback. The main areas that need improvement are enhancing the post creation experience and adding the ability to sign up directly through Blorp.

That said, Blorp is already very usable. I’ve chosen to launch the Mac app first because, among all the Lemmy clients, the desktop space is the least saturated. I’m starting with Mac since that’s where I’ve done all my testing, but the plan is to expand to Linux and Windows as well.

I’d love for you to download Blorp for Mac! If you’re not ready to install it yet, or you're not on a mac but still want to check it out, you can use the web version at blorpblorp.xyz.
