They tend to in more conservative circles, yeah.

Raise.com's GCX marketplace is a good one.

I am not a bot.

So why couldn't you type just the few sentences of your post body yourself? It's hilarious that you warn against pro-privacy browsers while using AI, the most privacy-invasive tool of all, to do it... And by the way, Waterfox ain't bad, either.

You'd still need ridiculous amounts of energy to simulate even a small fraction of our world, on the level of thousands of galaxies' energy per second. Dr. Blitz is a literal astrophysicist who addresses this matter: https://www.youtube.com/@blitzphd

We cannot be living in a simulation because the amount of energy to simulate and calculate all the possible atoms, quarks, and other particles and all their simultaneous interactions every fraction of a millisecond would far exceed an exponent of zillions upon zillions of all the possible energy that could ever exist. We wouldn't even begin to be able to comprehend anything.

"Well... the forerunners' physics operate differently, duh!"

Uh... if you were to believe that delusion, then I wouldn't know what to tell you; then you could just rig whatever answer you want to anything. And even if that were true, then the "real" world must be so vastly different from anything we could possibly connect with or perceive that it wouldn't be relatable anyway and would therefore be worthless or just academic to think about. I guess you don't want to hear it but this is unfortunately our actual life and that guy was just weird. Ask him if you can buy any potions from him next time or something.

Doesn’t matter if you show 100 ads.

The average person has less self-control than you, sadly.

You are correct; they have unfortunately also become risky. I literally, unironically minimize veggie intake because of these issues and eat spirulina powder. Algae is the future of food. JOIN ME!

Huh? Is that "AII" or "All" or what?

[–] Flagstaff@programming.dev 2 points 2 months ago

Yeah, we can no longer msg other participants without paying. I guess they've picked up on it having dating potential since it has a "Single" designation so it may get added to Match's ever-growing portfolio down the years, haha.

That would be Reddit admins just passing info over to the DHS, not the DHS hacking Reddit itself and gaining access. I thought we were discussing the latter, but I may be wrong.

Edit: I seek a server-less solution.

The only thing I can see is Linwood Flow but it looks like it's a really, really long way off before becoming a primary calendar app.

If it could just store all calendar content in 1 local file, then that could be so easily auto-synced across devices with !syncthing@programming.dev. Does anyone have any leads?

Hmm, I just now learned about Fruux, in this Reddit post...

In the formatting strip with bold, italics, etc., there is a troll face on the right that has never done anything when touched; I'm using v1.71.3 (288) on an S23 running Android 15 and One UI 7.0.

I'm trying to report this company-promoting spam but the loading wheel never seems to pass a report through. I've tried it on other instances as well, equally unsuccessfully. I thought several versions ago, reports submitted with no problem.

I had no idea that this post even had a URL and thought there was only the embedded video. I thought Summit showed article links freely. What's going on? S23 on Android 15 running One UI 7.0.

Like the dummy that I am, I've been using NoScript on my phone and 2 PCs... independently picking out which scripts will prevent a website's most critical functionality from breaking by guessing.

I'm now finally coming to a point of wanting to merge them, since I sometimes go to different sites on my phone versus the PCs, etc.

Is there any tool or way to merge them in a pro-whitelist way? Like, if any of them has a script on a whitelist, then the synced result will put it on a whitelist. That'd be great!

I don't suppose there's a solution to it. I use https://search.trom.tf/ which cycles through a list of SearXNG instances, but some of them retrieve results that literally look like they belong to another query. Has anyone else experienced this?

The real-time chess of the different character classes in Bad North is truly incredible. I love how height makes a real advantage (or disadvantage if too close!) for archers' physics-driven arrows, all the details (despite being a minimalist game) like arrows getting stuck in targets' shields, your choices in what weapon specialties you can assign, the fluid and organic character movement and fighting, etc.

You also really come to care about your soldiers' survival since the death of squad leaders is (typically) permanent, so loss is extremely emotional, especially given how they're customizable with different items. And—like the world's greatest jigsaw puzzler, Glass Masquerade—almost any screenshot from the game could be made into a wallpaper, so that's awesome.

For those who have never played this game, it was just on sale at GreenManGaming for <$3 (IsThereAnyDeal rocks!). It was also given away via Epic Games some years ago, which is how I've been revisiting it.

I had tried this back when it first went free and now wanna tout it here; Forgetful Dictator is the solidest piece of edutainment I've ever seen about country & capital learning/memorization. It's funny, smartly designed, and truly rewarding by teaching players more about all (known) human societies across our planet. I think everyone should give it a try, especially since it has many difficulty levels, from complete beginners to memory masters.

I'm trying to find a way to translate audio in a FOSS, ideally offline way. I currently use Jan.AI for everything but I realized that I've never tried to upload files to it before, and my current configuration doesn't seem to allow uploading.
