Carney said a byelection should be held as quickly as possible to give Poilievre an opportunity to win a seat in the House of Commons, if that’s what the Conservative Party wants.

Poilievre lost his seat in Ottawa's Carleton riding on Monday after holding it for more than 20 years, so he's in the unusual position of being a party leader without a seat.

"I already told Mr. Poilievre that I will trigger a byelection if that is the decision of the Conservative Party," he said in French.

Then, in English: "I will ensure that it happens as soon as possible. No games, nothing."

The riding PP is moving to voted 83.4% facist. Liberal was next with 11.4%.

The guy he is replacing is from a colonial farm and worked in the oil and gas industry.

From his parliamentary record: No work of note. Sponsored an anti-native troll bill that never got anywhere. Likes to pretend that he speaks for other ridings, provided they aren't CPC.

Since 1968, it has been held by the PCs for 25 Years, Liberals for 2 years and Reform/CPC since 1993.

Colonial farm, like every other farm in the country. And what you got against oil and gas, let me guess you bike everywhere and everything you own is all natural ingredients.

No. There is a difference between former colonial farms and outright "this-is-land-his-direct-family-stole".

And ah the standard personal attacks of the average redditor. How I have not missed you.

There is responsible O&G development, then there is US/Albertan approach. I oppose the latter.

You mean the later that follows environmental regulations and human rights conditions?

Don't get me wrong yes heavy oil takes a lot of upgrading to produce but with the shear amount of it it makes sense. All oil and most of the taxes taken from it should be used to wean ourselves off oil but that is many many years away.

And to your comment about the personal attack, um think you threw the first attack to oil and gas workers.

And haven't been on Reddit much for a bit now and I don't usually comment, but trying to help Lemmy be active and here is the average redditor who is better than everyone else. Guess your oil is better than ours. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Not sure why him simply stating he worked in oil and gas triggered you so hard. It wasn't some grand insult, it was more summing up who he is.

Really my response is such that you think I was triggered hard.

Jesus you people need to get a life.

Just trying to have a conversation.
