The New York Times drops freelance journalist who used AI to write book review
(www.theguardian.com)
"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"
A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.
AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.
It can't be this hard to read before commenting; this is the second paragraph.
I dunno man, all those clicks and waiting. Much easier to just comment on the headline 😉
The two are not mutually exclusive. Someone who spends their time analyzing the NYTimes book review, most likely massive privilege.
??? Jesus fucking christ. Maybe someone just decided to read two reviews of the same book from two popular book review outlets and saw obvious similarities. What the fuck is wrong with you? Why are you turning this bullshit assumption – from someone who didn't even read the article – into the deranged straw-grasping of a cornered Ace Attorney villain who needs you to "prove the clock was three hours slow on the day of the murder"?
You don't understand, man. Some people in this world don't have food on the table. Having a computer to read book reviews-especially British book reviews-is privilege.
I’ll bet that snooty fat cat didn’t even have to use the last of their lentil rations to avoid fainting from hunger while they read the reviews. /frugaljerk
