I had a thought about this AI crap in everything (don't get me wrong current AI does have its positive uses) referring to this post and a few others. What if "they" are shoving AI into these devices not just for surveillance (the Intelligence part of current AI) but to also make use of our "unused computer cycles" see BOINC, I used to donate my unused cycles to this Berkeley initiative over a decade ago. What if due to the expense of the centres, lack of enough centres, and the lack of hardware for said centres they are using our devices as a distributed network?

It has nothing to do with anti-semitism, and in fact nothing to do with ethnicity at all.

Conversely, the people who today don't protest against the Palestinian Genocide would not have protested against the Holocaust.

Just had an oh-shit! moment at the library.

Depending on how things go, if the USB Implementers Forum can:

  • get the naming debacle figured out to where it's useful to people without sounding like gibberish.
  • develop USB-C to be more powerful than HDMI & DisplayPort.
  • lower licensing fees.

then USB-C could potentially overtake HDMI and DisplayPort in the graphics display cable market.

The reason I'm saying this is cause:

  • USB-C just_works.™️ for external/multi-monitor displays (it even works on my current dogshit NixOS laptop).
  • some manufacturers have already previously experimented/and sold graphics cards (GPUs) with USB-C as a display option.

As manufacturers already have to pay for HDMI/DisplayPort licensing fees, now it's just a matter of who can provide the most with the least overhead costs.

While it's not guranteed that USB-C is the true end solution, it does provide manufacturers with another option, which technically should lower costs for them to manufacture GPUs.

  1. You have very little rights as you've chosen to work without pay.
  2. The company has no obligation to hire you as you're already working for free.
  3. They can continue spewing bullshit about they're "considering your application" for as long as they want until you eventually decide to quit.

You're more likely to get hired by volunteering at a non-profit, cooperative, public benefit company.
Why?

  • They probably care more about the people they want to continually work with.
  • Higher likely to have a lower turnover rate.
  • More likely to have worker protections.
  • Probably have better working conditions than mandatory overtime crunch without equivalent pay.

Corporations can hire and layoff in mass droves with no real repercussions unfortunately.

Since this is already and continually happening, if you're working as a corporate volunteer I think you're unfortunately wasting a lot of your time :/

  • also if you're currently volunteering there's 0 reason to give any amount of prior notice before quitting. I mean what are they gonna do? fire you?🤣

If you're truly honest, you'd say yes.

If you weren't honest, you'd lie and say yes.

If you were truly honest and say no, then you're not being honest about your honesty.

If you weren't honest and say no, then you're being honest which is a paradox.

My wife likes watching America's Got Talent with all their highlight reels and it got me to thinking, there's a business out there making a ton of money from parents allowing their children to perform for free.

Both strayed far off from the ideals they originally strived for. Israel went from a refuge for Jews after the Holocaust to Jews committing genocide against another group of people. The USA went from fighting against kings and authoritarianism to fully embracing it.

Both believe in colonialism and forceful removal of existing populations.

Both exploited a terrible tragedy to increase violence against those they believed to be responsible: Israel with 10/7 and the USA with 9/11.

Both lack true separation of church and state; Israel is dominated by Zionists and the USA by Christian evangelicals.

Both kill children in schools; Israel with drone strikes and the USA with school shootings.

Both are obsessed with "national security" and fear of outside influence.

Any others I might've forgotten?

I had never really heard of him outside of wrestling until the memes, and since then his movie career has actually been on a pretty impressive trajectory.

Both popped up with a slew of celebrities. Felt pretty soulless then disappeared. As far as I know Wavin' Flag did raise one million dollars Haiti though.

It just occurred to me that we always refer to news in the plural sense. Even if we're just telling somebody one thing that happened, it's always "news". Makes me wonder if, in the past, there was ever a convention of referring to news in the singular sense.

If we put the complete works of George RR Martin into an AI. I wonder if the AI could make a more generally satisfactory ending to GOTs TV?

Except maybe the shooty part of the biathlon, I guess.

It seems weird that some areas of the US have considered a health tax on sugary drinks and other items containing a lot of sugar, corn syrup, etc. Why not instead remove subsidies on those raw materials instead? Otherwise people's tax dollars are being used twice on the same product
