Since they revealed most of the Mystical Archive bonus sheet, it's a good time for a reality check of how often all those chase mythics will show up.

7/8 packs will have an Uncommon SOA card In that 1/8th pack you have slightly less than 1/4 of a chance of a mythic and the rest are rare

Compare this to the original Strixhaven Draft Boosters:

Where Mythics were over twice as common and Rares almost 3 times as common

So the pull rates of the best cards have been heavily nerfed

Sourced from the bottom of the collecting article for SOS and the one for original Strixhaven

Opinions on foiled cards

  • Do you seek them?
  • Do you avoid them?
  • Do you tolerate them?
  • Do they really bend that bad?

I think I'm most interested in Lorehold (I just like Quintorious) or Witherbloom.

I've wanted them since I first played against them. I also love Flubs, but there's no way the worn down sleeve won't be my default!

elmarcodepico asked:

Which mechanic would you most like to revisit? And how would you improve it?

Maro:

After thirty plus years working on Magic, I decided I wanted to really challenge myself, so I’m excited to announce Reality Fracture has a new take on ante.

One of the old challenges with ante is how permanently losing ownership of a card could totally ruin a deck. The solution to that was surprisingly simple. Now you don’t ante a card, you ante the whole deck.

Yes, this will mean some changes to the tournament structure. You will now get to bring three unique decks to each tournament. And three loses lead to an ejection from the tournament. I know this sounds like a big change, but I think once you experience it, you’ll be like “how did Magic function for so long before this change?”

ship-of-skitties asked:

Will we be getting a new take on banding in Reality Fracture?

Maro:

Of course. As we lean into Magic’s depth being a competitive advantage, we decided banding didn’t go far enough. This means Reality Fracture gets to introduce expanded banding. It’s like normal banding, but twice the rules.

I know what you’re thinking. Will that reminder text fit on a card? Heavens no, but that’s while we’ll be putting a double-faced expanded banding rules card in every Reality Fracture booster.
