Yes, all regular boosters contain 1 Instant or Sorcery card from the Mystical Archive, at the above pull rates. If you check the Spoilers community you can see the current revealed cards under [SOA] (whereas the main set is [SOS])

I'm surprised, I didn't think we'd ever see a new pox given how much they avoid resource denial these days. I guess they're okay with it at 5 (heavily restricted) mana

Entering can grab any creature card in a graveyard and gives haste, which is a significant upgrade.

But in recent years they've been shortcutting "Look at the top X for something, and put the rest in your graveyard" into just "Mill X and put something among them into your hand/field"

Mark Rosewater noted it as a positive for Draft in his State of Design article, but that may have been only for less-experienced drafters. Was it disliked among more competitive drafters?

Yeah, it's pretty epic

I dislike using them inside my decks because of how often they curl. However for my Commander I will often try to spend the extra money for an extra shiny card since they almost never get shuffled into the deck

However I am a little disappointed how often the foiling is just not that impressive. Coming from playing Yu-Gi-Oh as a kid I do miss their more bombastic foil cards

Quandrix has been my favorite of the Strixhaven colleges and it continues for this set. I'm already interested in a deck with the new Primo.

We also got Follow the Bodies from MKM Commander!

Somehow missed that this was from the Commander set when I originally posted it given that Commander previews usually come all at once. Also it feels like it could be printed into Standard and not really do anything

Edit: and then mistakenly changed it to SOA instead of SOC, dangnabbit

It's nutty if you untap with it, but I think Commander is fast enough these days that a seven mana Commander needs to do a lot in order to be worthwhile. And since this doesn't have any effect on ETB you really need to have extra mana/free counterpells up to protect it if you want to Storm off before it gets removed

The card isn't "Prepared" while it's in your hand, so yeah you gotta cast the creature first. I think it's an interesting way to add more Instants/Sorceries and a fun way to bring back old spells (especially broken ones)

I missed that on first read. I'm glad they finally fixed the mechanic, it was cool but the downside completely ruined it
